  • First of all, you never point a firearm at anyone you are not willing to kill and you never pull the trigger unless you are willing to fully commit and kill your target. In other words, no warning shots, no “winging”, always shoot to kill. Secondly, wait until the person has actually broken in and poses a clear threat to you and then shoot (again, to kill). The old pirate saying is especially applicable here: dead men tell no tales. If they have actually physically forced entry into your home and are lying dead then the only side of the story that matters is yours. If you only wound them or “warn” them then be ready to face a lawsuit or criminal charges yourself. Feel free to give a verbal warning if you really want to before you kill but just keep in mind that if they are armed as well, you’ve given away your position, status, and intention and they might just use that to their advantage.

  • There needs to be a follow-up story for this one. I’m predicting a headline of “Australian specialty store goes out of business after instituting a cover charge”. I mean seriously, you can charge people whatever you feel like charging them I guess but that doesn’t mean they’re going to pay it or keep coming to your store. What goes around comes around.

  • Of course the Dick Act of 1902 can’t be repealed… because it was never actually passed. What WAS passed however, was the National Guard Act of 1903, also known as the Dick Act & it MUST be repealed. It ended militias & created the National Guard. It was a much watered down version of what Roosevelt originally wanted & basically all it did was to officially federally organize the National Guard (Militias had been informally called the National Guard for many years before that) while giving it an official structure that ended all militias. From the foundation of the country, anybody in a community could join the militia & rules of conduct in that militia were decided locally. Also, the command structure was such that the President had NO authority over any militia. He could make a request from state Governors & Governors could call upon militias but militias themselves had their own command structures. The Dick Act in its originally passed form (from 1903, not 1902) while seeming to not do much, changed a lot about our military structure but what it also did was to open the door for more abuse & power grabbing later on as amendments were added to the bill making it so that the President could call upon any unit for any reason or no reason at all any time he wished, making him truly the Commander in Chief of all military force in the US (which he was never meant to be). It destroyed the militia system designed by the founders & set the stage for the death of the 2nd Amendment

  • Sandrunner, you could say the same thing about the military and the oath they take. The unfortunate thing is that the oaths they take are double-ended. They take an oath to protect the Constitution, yes but in that same oath they also swear to follow the orders of the President and the officers appointed over them. When the two conflict with each other then what is to be done? The simple fact of the matter is that they are trained to follow orders and that is what they will do. I know I sure wasn’t trained on how to follow the Constitution when I was in basic training! To clarify, I have nothing but love for everyone I served with and who are currently serving, it is the structure and the upper leadership that is corrupt, not them and the same goes for the other big government agencies (for the most part).

  • The Dick Act is the nickname for the National Guard Act of 1903 (several versions of this tried to get passed but never did until 1903). It is the bill that ended the militias and created the National Guard as we know it today. This was Teddy Roosevelt’s baby and the first thing he tried to get done as soon as he became President. His first versions of the bill all got shot down because they consolidated all military power into the President’s hands so by 1903 he had dumbed it down to a bill that simply made militias a more formal organization under the official title of “The National Guard”. It did end militias as they were known up until that time and change their structure but that was all it did. Later amendments consolidated the National Guard further and consolidated their leadership structure until an amendment was finally passed to make it so that the National Guard would have to obey the orders of the President and that he could call upon them at any time for any reason, thus making the President the Commander in Chief of ALL military force in the US, not just over the regular Army, as was originally written and intended. Because it “reorganized” militias, it effectively did away with them and made the formation of one illegal. It also opened the door to the argument that firearm ownership was no longer necessary and that firearms could be restricted and controlled. Roosevelt was a raging Progressive and this was his baby, the “Obamacare” of his day.

  • I seriously don’t understand a discussion board that is talking all about gun control and how do we keep the government from killing the Second Amendment but nobody is willing to even look into or simply ask a question about the only true and lasting solution there is to the government trying to take away or restrict gun ownership.

I am telling you all once again that there is ONE and only ONE true solution that will permanently end the government’s attempts to ban firearms. Not only will it do that, but this solution will also restore more power to the people than anything being seriously discussed in this country right now. The National Guard Act of 1903 needs to go. It never should have been voted into law and it is very ingrained into the system now after having been law for 110 years but it is THE obstacle that needs to be overcome. I really wish some of the people with more influence would pick up on this. My passion for this doesn’t come from any party, news site, blog, or talking head but from my own research and analysis and application of common sense. I wish somebody else besides me would pick up on this.

For anyone serious about keeping their right to bear arms, REPEAL THE NATIONAL GUARD ACT OF 1903!!!

  • I keep saying it, repeal the National Guard Act of 1903. It IS the solution, everything else is just treating symptoms.

  • It makes me sad to see so many people on here arguing over specifics when we should all be on the same side of the bigger picture. BrotherWinstonSmith, you need to seriously chill out. Guess what, not everyone agrees with you 100% and you berating them isn’t going to convince them you’re right. Same with Alex Jones. He has a lot of good points but acting belligerent puts people off. You see it as passion but those not already on his side see it as anger and insanity. No matter how solid his ideals are, he needs an audience that will listen and he can’t just stick with the one he already has. You may think Alex’s side is growing and “winning” but the only side really winning right now is the progressive left. Infighting only helps them. Besides which, nobody here is even focusing on the real issue and what would actually resolve all this “gun grabbing” nonsense and all attempts to ban or even regulate firearms. I don’t even hear Beck, Jones, or anyone else even mentioning it. Please, everyone, go look up the National Guard Act of 1903. It is the key to unraveling the government’s excessive power, putting the power back in the hands of the people, and ending every attempt to take away firearms. You’ll need to read it and study it out but this law needs to be repealed. It is of the utmost importance. If you read it and don’t understand why it is so key, let me know and I’ll be happy to explain it to anyone. We should all know about this.

  • Seriously people! There is no point arguing about what is or isn’t an assault weapon, what should and shouldn’t be banned, or what laws should and shouldn’t be passed. These things all only treat symptoms and not a single one of them will really solve anything at all. The arguments about “the Second Amendment isn’t for hunting” do nothing but waste time and divert attention away from the actual solution that NOBODY is talking about. The real solution to it all is getting rid of the National Guard Act of 1903.

You want the people to take back control of the nation from the government?
Get rid of the National Guard Act of 1903!
You want to end every effort to take away firearms?
Get rid of the National Guard Act of 1903!
You want to stop getting involved in wars that the people of the US do not support?
Get rid of the National Guard Act of 1903!
You want to strengthen the Constitution and restore the Second Amendment as it was in the beginning?
Get rid of the National Guard Act of 1903!

It was the first big Progressive law passed and is the foundation to every Progressive law that has followed it. You knock out the foundation and it’s only a matter of time before everything else follows. This was Teddy Roosevelt’s baby and the first thing he tried to get passed as soon as he became President (note that this is the same Teddy Roosevelt that ran for President under the Progressive Party ticket). The National Guard Act of 1903 needs to go!!!

  • I don’t know how many times I have said it and I really wish people would pick up on it but the whole problem with the government trying to take away everyone’s weapons goes back to the NATIONAL GUARD ACT OF 1903.

Teddy Roosevelt passed it as the first and most important piece of Progressive legislation and it has laid the ground for every other Progressive law that has come since. Please, research it!!! The National Guard Act of 1903 turned our militias into the “National Guard”, effectively abolishing them and making them an arm of the regular standing army under the President’s command whenever he wants them. Militias were never meant to be under the command of the President!!!

Please everyone, read up on it, study it carefully, the National Guard Act of 1903 did more to neuter America and shackle the nation than Obamacare or any other Progressive law has ever hoped to.

I don’t believe in treating symptoms, I believe in solutions and getting rid of the National Guard Act of 1903 IS the SOLUTION!!! Getting rid of it will definitively end every effort to ban firearms and will make completely ineffective and impossible to implement the UN Small Arms Treaty that is being signed in March.
