  • The nuns themselves should be performing the charity work instead of demanding that the government do it.

  • Virgie, you don’t have to have a lot of money to stock up on items for bartering if things should get really ugly. Buy a few extras of toiletries and non-perishable groceries. Soap, shampoo, lotion, lip balm, feminine supplies, razors, etc., will probably be hot items. If you don’t have much room for storage, there is always the space under your bed, behind doors, etc. Good luck!

  • Where is the plan? Or a link to the 10-point plan? This article tells me pretty much nothing. The Blaze has gotten sloppy in its reporting. I just read another story on The Blaze (about the man with only two fingers on his left hand) that was incomplete without showing the original untouched photo. Fortunately, someone provided a link to the missing picture in the Comments section. If you cannot get permission to use a photo or a link, then please say so in your article. I can’t tell you how many times lately, I have clicked on a headline on the home page, only to be disappointed with the lack of pertinent information in the article.

  • Dear President Obama,

I was, and still am, barely, in the middle class. (I am losing income, thanks to your policies.) If this is how you fight for people like me, I respectfully ask you to stop it. You have done enough damage already!

    Sincerely,

A citizen who still earns some taxable income (but probably not for long)

  • Gee, this Chinese dude sounds just like those crazy tea party terrorists! According to Sen. John Kerry, “The media in America has a bigger responsibility than it’s exercising today. The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion just because somebody asserts it…” One should live within one’s means. How absurd is that?

  • My husband owns a heating/AC business. In the south, the AC equipment for most commercial buildings is on the roof. This summer, temps have been hovering near 100 degrees. The air temp on the white roofs he has worked on were much hotter than the darker roofs. This heat hovering above the roof puts stress on the equipment, causing it to run longer periods of time in order to release heat. A white roof may cool off the actual building, but that heat has to go somewhere. I’m not sure it would end up being worth the trade-off.

  • What a coincidence! This article was posted on the Memphis Business Journal on Monday: http://www.bizjournals.com/memphis/news/2011/07/11/group-formed-to-educate-public-on.html
The Obama administration is launching a new initiative to educate people about Climate Change just as Al Gore has started a renewed effort to line his pockets. Can you say “Crony Capitalism?” Note that this article says this plan is using our public universities “to increase and improve climate change education for children and adults through formal and informal environments, including schools, universities, museums, nature centers, community environments and churches.” CHURCHES? Heaven help us!

  • “Obama was calling on lawmakers to ‘step up and be leaders.’” Are you kidding me? You first, Mr. President (If you even know how).

  • That comparison is not fair to moles!

  • The grocery store is reimbursed by the manufacturer for the coupon amount plus a handling fee. Coupon usage can actually increase a store’s sales. Besides, many, if not most, sales are sponsored by the manufacturer. It is my understanding that manufacturers promote the sales of a particular item by paying for space in the stores’ weekly ads. This arrangement seems to benefit everyone.
