  The Second Amendment names each American as part of a well regulated militia. We are each obligated by the 2nd to defend the 1st. It should be assumed that any random list of adult Americans is a “register” of gun owners.

  It would be more sensible to ask for a list of those who do NOT own a gun, and perhaps we could do without them as voters. Such an approach to gun registration would be in line with our founding principles.

  I guess the reason this was a stupid remark is so obvious that some of us just can’t see why. It seems a very benign comment that garnered an extreme overreaction.

  This is a common argument currently being pushed by lib visitors on conservative talk shows. It is completely disingenuous. People of Brokaw’s ilk know perfectly well that the armed citizenry of the U.S. blocks them from implementing their progressive Utopian plans. The random smattering of freedom-loving small arms holders are precisely what neutralizes a tyrant’s cannons and war front style weapons. They know this.
