  • It got hit by a friggin derailed train ! Yea it’s going to collapse! Don’t blame the administrator because a bridge collapse due to a train collision!

  • Doesn’t matter why he was in the home but that he was in the home illegally. I say justified shooting.

  • Because we are a republic. Rule by law. Where the minority is protected from the majority. If you want a theocracy, your in the wrong country.

  • You talk about a play on words but use them yourself. A man is defined by his actions, so if you hate someones actions, you obviously hate the person doing the actions. Good play on words though.

But I like the idea of the saying. We shouldn’t base our laws on personal dislikes. By allowing that, you open the flood gates for the liberals.

It’s best to stay neutral and general. You can set personal rules, that you can live with, but outside of that you cannot use government and law to regulate those personal rules outside of your house onto others.

  • She’s still trying to play that she was abused, and she was defending her self. One bullet to the head, I can say maybe was self defense. But 37 stab wounds and a bullet to the head? That’s not self defense…. I say let her fry.

But in Florida, a 16 year old on their 16th birthday is allowed to have sex with someone who is 23 years and 364 days old. Go figure that one out for me.

  • Well then ranger skip I suppose there’s no need for us to argue or discuss laws such as Obama care, patriot act, ndaa, et al. They are the law! So let’s just lay down and go to sleep. I call cow manure. You wouldn’t be saying the same thing if it were your son in the situation. I don’t need to have a personal investment in an injustice to deem it worthy of a cause to defend those that are persecuted by an unjust law by big government. I would stand up in defense for a heterosexual in the same scenario. Just because its law, doesn’t make it right or just, as evident with obamacare, ndaa and any further push for gun control which I strongly oppose. I don’t let my person beliefs on sexual orientation (yea surprise I’m straight!) cloud my judgement on what’s worth fighting for. I’d defend YOU in a heart beat against tyranny of any kind, regardless of the animosity you’ve shown towards me. I do not put blinders on injustice just because I don’t agree with your lifestyle. Unfortunately, you do. That, my friend, is bigotry by definition.

Lucky for you, in Tennessee (I’m assuming by the name) they have a common sense law called “close-in-age exemption”, also known as a “Romeo and Juliet law”. As long as you are not more than 4 years apart in age, you won’t get prosecuted.

However; if you were in Florida, your fellow christians, the day you turned 18, would consider you a Pedophile, a Sexual Predator and a Statutory Rapist!

Or does that rule only apply if he was with another dude? These rules for casting stones are getting confusing…..

But was it being “Young and stupid”?

When one day, what you are doing is legal, then ALL OF A SUDDEN (In case the Grammar Nazi is reading) you turn 18 and what you were doing for a year prior, is now illegal. Imagine, in a weird and strange world, that a year after marrying your wife, for some odd reason, the law says you are no longer to be with her or you are breaking the law. Are you suppose to just say, “whelp, it’s the law, see you later!”

I know it’s an extreme analogy, but it’s a valid one. She was doing nothing illegal one day, then the next, on her birthday, she’s an instant felon.

Something is wrong with that scenario, homosexual or heterosexual. I think an easy, way to do it is just a 4 year gap exemption. At the very least, a 3 year gap exemption. But why make a 7-8 year gap exemption? That doesn’t make any sense.

    Florida Law

14 year old with 17 year old = OK
15 year old with 18 year old = Felony
16 year old with 19 year old = OK
16 year old with 23 year old = OK

What part of that equation makes sense to anyone? How am I the only one here that is getting this? Drop your bias towards the homosexuality part of this news story and look at it as a common sense issue.

  • FUBARED

Personal assault on character, good job.

    This is the law:

15 year old and a 18 year old = Sexual Predator, Pedophile, Statutory Rapist.
16 year old and 23 year old = Outstanding citizen.

Just because it’s the law does not make it right and it does not make it common sense.

Just like Obamacare. It’s the law, but will it stop you or me from FIGHTING against it? No.

You call me a liberal, go for it. I believe in many things you believe in. I’m a gun loving, fiscal conservative. I am, however, a social liberal. In other words, I’m a libertarian, and I believe in freedom for all, not just those that believe like I believe, or live their lives the way I want to live my life.

    LOCKED

Like I said, I know it’s the law, but it’s a stupid law. They’ll prosecute an 18 year old for having sex with a 15 year old (3 year gap) but not a 23 years 364 day old having sex with a 16 year old (possibly up to 8 year gap!)

COME ON! Just because its THE LAW doesn’t mean we shouldn’t stand up for common sense and to reform stupid laws!
