Sorry Glenn, you are only exacerbating the problem. People want to throw the Name of Jesus around to cover their failed attempt at feeling better about themselves. Try Biblical CONTEXT! Mark 14:7 “The poor you will have with you always….” The CONTEXTt being if you are doing this to try and convert the illegals to Christianity I suppose that’s great. If not, you are only spinning your wheels to feel better about yourself. Context is everything in the Bible.
The context of Mark 14:7 is a quote of Deut 15:11. Deuteronomy was apparently one of Jesus' most favorite books. Deut 15:11 reads thusly:
"There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land."
This seems to be a command to be good to fellow Hebrews, though this does not exclude care for foreigners as per Lev 19:33-34:
"When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God."
In Mark 14, Mary Magdalene perfumes Jesus' feet with a bottle of expensive perfume, and the apostles rebuke her for it on the grounds that they could have given it to the poor. Jesus then rebukes the apostles and tells them that they will always have the poor, but that Christ will only be there for a short while. The end of Mark 14:7 even spells it out "you will not always have me."
The understanding should be, that the apostles were not wrong that the poor should be taken care of - which Paul among other New Testament authors also affirms. The truth is that this was a special time in history where the man who is literally God in the flesh was among them. Jesus is not saying that the poor should not be cared for. Anyone who denies that the poor should be cared for, is pretty clearly avoiding Biblical context.
I don’t live far from this idiot in Tucson. I believe he got a lot of hate e-mail. But he is lying about HAVING TO leave his home. There are more people in his neighborhood who agree with him than don’t. He is lying for sympathy!

Which leads me to the most pressing UNANSWERED question of the month; Why is he leaving FOX? If Fox fired him, don’t we have a right to know? I have had my suspicions about them for several years now. THAT INFORMATION would seal the deal for me.
You should be very proud of him. He is my Congressman and I am proud of him too.

WOW, what a stupid move by Boehner. Nothing wrong with it on the surface, but the underlying premise speaks volumes as to why we need to go back to citizen legislators!

I’m happy for her (she’s my Congresswoman) but I fear this is ALL being done by her people in order that they can run her again for office. I REALLY hope she does not run and goes and enjoy’s the rest of her life. We here in Arizona’s 8th deserve an actual Rep in Congress, her staff have been running the partisan show.

It’s not a coincidence that the founding of the United Nations was signed in San Fran. The good people of that city should seriously consider leaving. Personally, I hope the city slides into the ocean. Did I say that out loud? yes, yes I did.

In DC back 2000 I was in a crosswalk and a car screeched to a stop just inches from my legs. I looked up at the driver and it was judge Sooter. Obviously, proper driving skills are not a prerequisite to the SCOTUS.
