  • Here we have a perfect example where the government is seen as the “giver of rights”, as compared to unalienable rights from the Creator. In the US, our freedoms do not come from the government. They come from our Creator, as stated in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Simple concept. It’s this very concept that drives those who want more government intervention and control crazy. From actual laws as passed by Congress, to Executive Orders, to the EPA and to State and local governments, anyone who respects their freedoms can see the root cause of Americans losing more and more of their those freedoms every day.

  • This whole “passing laws to make things better” mindset forgets one truth. YOU CAN’T LEGISLATE MORALITY! And that’s the truth.

  • Well said. You’ve captured the real situation. Someone once said “you can’t legislate morality.” This applies here. All of the laws in the world, anti-guns, controls on chemicals, speed limits, etc. will do nothing the curb this evil. It takes a change in each person’s moral fiber. And that change requires society to take on such a responsibility instead of passing off its culpability to the government.

  • I’ve just got to weigh in. I’ve watches Ryan over the past several years, especially when he started authoring proposed budgets. He strikes me a being a worker type of person, willing to put in whatever time and resources it takes to do hos job. He makes sense. He doesn’t come across as a BS artist. He does come across as a knowledgeable person. He may not be flashy. He may not win a place in along side the Chippendales, but he seems to be a person who can be relied upon.

The net-net, Romney made a good choice. Let’s hope the majority of Americans feel the same way and vote Conservative/Republican in November.

  • My 2nd post. I’m retired with experience in the television industry, production, etc. So the perspective I’d like to impart is technical in nature.
LIGHTING: Outstanding. Any show done “in-the-round” is an SOB to cover properly, without overkill. The folks who designed and implemented the luminaires were top notch (TN)! Control throughout the show was right on point.
Sound: Outstanding. Wireless mics are usually easy to do when the talents’ movements are constrained. Hard when talent can walk almost any place. When, near the end of GB’s speech, the stage filled with people, I expected to hear cross-talking, some feedback, and off tone sounds. Not so. The choices of mics and the execution was TN!
VIDEO: Outstanding: Shading so many cameras, which were shooting under varying lighting conditions, is tough, at best. Varying skin tones are the hardest to get right on the fly, as the show switches between cameras. TN!
ANIMATION: The stage animation was right on point, not over done, over used or cute. Just right. TN!
WRITING and DELIVERY: The folks who wrote GB’s speech, including GB, got the message across so efficiently that it was as if GB was talking only to me. That’s hard to do. GB’s delivery couldn’t have been better. His intonations and inflections were very effective. You could see he spoke from his heart. (And no telepromters) TN!
PRODUCTION: The director, ass’t dirs., producers ass’t. prods., Tech. Switchers, floor crew were all

  • WTF! Sorry, that was my first reaction. Firstly I’d like to congratulate the Wilsons on their marriage. I pray your lives together will continue to be a holy and peaceful union. Being married before the eyes of God, in His Church, was the right thing to do!

As for the mess that was created. The second point that I’d like to make is that the Wilsons took the high road. They handled the situation with class and dignity. The Third point: Pastor Weatherford and the “hand full of congregants” showed their true views. It’s clear there are people in the congregation that are racists. It’s also clear that the majority of the congregation, and the Pastor, are afraid of these people. What other explanation can there be for such actions?

To Pastor Weatherford: Sir, you have some explaining to do to the Wilsons, to the larger congregation and to your house of Bishops, explaining both your actions,or your lack of same. You should have put a halt to this problem as soon as you were confronted with it. So what are the “handful”-powerful and/or influential people? That doesn’t count before God. Now that you’ve accommodated these racist feelings, you can expect more of the same to surface.

To the larger congregation: You HAD a chance to show what real Christianity is all about. All is not lost. If it be God’s plan, and with His and Christ’s help, you can STILL weed out the racist feels. Work with your Pastor and seek guidance, from Christ and your Bi

  • I just watched the 43 minute video that is shown above. WOW! WOW, not because of the delivery that GB made. WOW, not because of the ‘old time revival’ format. WOW, not because of the theatrics. WOW, not because of the hype.

No, I say WOW because of the message that was delivered. It rings true, no matter who you are. There were no politics in the speech. What there were are concrete thoughts about what America stands for. And, perhaps most important of all, the message was one of hope and of action.

Thanks, Glen, to you, personally, and to the entire crew who brought these feelings to us in a way that wasn’t threatening and, in fact, was positive. We need to hear such thoughts more often. I hope GBTV produces a DVD that has the entire event on it.

God bless you Glen and staff.

  • When I read that another rendition on the Star Spangled Banner was in the offing, I shuttered! There have been so many flops that I wish folks would just sing it straight.

HOWEVER, I will be the first to say Mr. Boye’s performance of this rendition was GREAT!!! Many thanks to the GB team of producers and writers for bringing us to tears.

God has blessed America for centuries. I pray He will continue to do so. THERE AIN’T NO BETTER PLACE ON EARTH TO LIVE, even with all of our shortcomings.

  • Where are comments posted after 3:22 pm? Come on Blaze, let’s get with it!

  • My final comments. You and the Seminole City Government should be ashamed of yourselves. You owe an apology to the Seminole Firefighters and to America at large. To paraphrase one of our best presidents, Ronald Reagan, ‘Mr. Manager, replace those flags!’
