  And secondly, we have had free access to birth control for DECADES. The instance of “unwanted” pregnancies have gone up, not down. The number of abortions have not become “rare”; they’ve escalated. Having access to birth control only leads to more abortions. That’s why Planned Parenthood just LOVES ‘teaching’ our children about safe sex- they know kids are going to either do it more, or do it wrong, or both- which leads to more pregnancies and more abortions and – SHOCK!- more money for them. It’s all about the Benjamins, baby.

  Sorry; but human life begins at conception- i.e., the merging of the sperm and the egg, then it’s an abortion to knowingly cause the uterus to reject that human life before implantation. Ectopic pregnancies are still human life. A miscarriage is still human life. Even Webster’s dictionary defines conception as that: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/conception

  Every single human life is unique. Every person deserves life.

  Charper1013: You might want to look at this link. In addition to preventing ovulation, Plan B also prevents the fertilized ovum from attaching to the uterine lining; thus, it does cause the death of an albeit small but nonetheless unique human being. So, yes; Plan B does in some cases cause an abortion.

  Since you stated that free contraception would reduce abortion rates, that was where I disagreed with you.   I agree with you on Komen, also. It’s repugnant to me that I am forced to have my tax dollars sent to Planned Parenthood while they perform abortions.

  I would disagree with you that artificial contraception has reduced abortions. Since the dawn of the birth control pill and all other contraceptives since 1972, pregnancy/STDs/abortions have only increased. Providing free contraception will not lower abortion rates. Why do you think PP has their mitts on both ends of the issue? Because it makes money; period.

  They were chained to the ambo to prevent stealing before the printing press because they were so valuable, being written/illustrated by hand over the course of years. No-one had them other than churches because they were either a) too poor to buy one or b) were illiterate. Once the printing press made the product cheaper, people could have them more easily. The Church NEVER forbade its parishioners from reading the Bible.

  One of my friends, Ahmed Meligy, who blogs for the Jerusalem Post and is a Muslim peace activist, was arrested in Alexandria on 12/30/12. He spent 3 weeks in jail, and we haven’t heard a lot from him; although he says it was hell and that he’ll be writing about it soon. Ahmed is a modern Egyptian who want to see all people- Jew, Christian, and Muslim- live peacefully. His JP article on Morsi was probably what got him arrested. Pray for his safety!
