Having lived a good life here in the U.S. should count for SOMETHING. Such atrocities were rampant across the entire war theatre. I’m not wiping the slate – but the man has had to live with himself and the thoughts of that all these years. The guilt probably led to the publishing of the memoirs… in a way he probably ‘sub-consciously’ wanted to get caught – so he could atone for his crimes.

How ironic is it that this bus was headed to a ‘nature preserve’ and whacks the poor guy wanting to save a turtle? Hope he’s doing better soon!
