  When I was in college for my electronics engineering degree, our instructor taught us about the circle of knowledge…First he drew a circle and told us “that is what you know now..everything you know is in that circle, but as you learn more (then he drew a larger circle around the first circle) your circle of knowledge grows and therefore you actually know less than you did before, and it takes longer to catch up!” … That is probably what is happening with this fellow and for him to say there is a huge leap from 13 to 17 is quite a stretch. My 3 boys “thought” they knew everything at 13, and were “positive” they knew everything at age 17… I am sure he just wants to impress the girls with his new found liberal ideals…

  He has converted because that is where the girls are at that age! He is intelligent and he wants to fit in…My boys took home economics in high school to because that is where the girls where and face it, he is at the age where his peers matter and the females matter most! I agree that after his first few paychecks, he will change his mind.
