  I have personally watched my father take on men half his age when he was in his fifties, and he walked away cut up, ready for more. Society may have become more feminized, but there are plenty of real men still out there. Don’t lump them all together.

  The founders of our country and the first congressmen received no pay, and there is absolutely NOTHING in the Constitution that ever established an idea to pay them. The ONLY reason they get paid is because THEY passed laws to make it happen! Laws can be changed and repealed, and if the thought of them getting no pay is too much, why not limit their salary to that of a soldier. I dare anyone say a soldier’s life is less valuable than a congressmen’s service, because if we pay our congressmen more than our soldiers thats exactly what we are saying!

  @ARNDT08, Get ready to be belittled, discounted, and fought with for the rest of your career. I am a veteran teacher and I have actually become more conservative the longer I taught, largely because I feel responsible for making sure I present the end product I expect- to be prepared, knowledgeable, and respectful. This has led to much grief from every corner. But the cool thing is when your students start to realize THEY are doing better (because you have higher expectations and aren’t afraid to challenge them) and they start to turn around. The Education arena is 99% Progressive, I kid you not, so be ready. It’s really funny, yet sad, to see the shock on students’ and teachers’ faces when they hear you say something conservative, like global warming is a theory (OMG!) and conservatism does not tell you you can’t think for yourself like socialism does (Whoa!) and my students actually like John Wayne, no matter how bad others portray him, after we watch the Quiet Man :)

  Also, as for tenure, that is the one thing that has allowed me to continue as a teacher, because they fire people willy-nilly in education. I had spoke my peace early on and if it wasn’t for tenure, I would have been kicked out. It’s ironic because progressives got it in place to protect themselves, and now it’s protecting conservatives :). There are better ways to prevent things like that, but they are not in place. I do understand your grief with it though.

  Dine are like other races in that they have those who do things they shouldnt. Dine are a proud and honorable people and do not strive to publicly shame those that have chosen a wrong path, thus they seem weak to outsiders. Thus the myth that they havea “gene” or predisposition to alcholism. The truth is the US government made drinking illegal and natives started binge drinking to avoid prosecution. It continues today because of the this ttradition, as it is illegal to have alcohol on the Rez so drinking is done quickly when its done. Not only that, but people do not want to publicly shame others as that is not traditional. However, being a belagana and not doing research means you may not have this knowledge or experience. I suggest you get it before posting again.

  Why in the world are we, the proud citizens of a republic brought about by determination and sacrifice from thousands of our ancestors, saying a LAW has brought our country down? George Washington would tisk and call us wussies if he were alive today! Have we really forgotten what so many have given up so we can figjt this? We dont even need guns, all we need is a mouth and a vote! Stop whining and start acting like the proud patriots of such a strong legacy we are!
