  Patronzing people (often the military) by stating that they support and believe in “the cause” is just a form of pandering. It is quite revealing how many state that they believe in the troops, yet they would never serve or even have their children serve. These folks (from both parties) would just rather watch the parade rather than actually be in the parade and wear a lepel pin of the American Flag. Then they can lecture others and attempt to call themselves patriots. It is the new pop-culture form of serving their country. The politicians are experts at this behavior.

  You may want to consider the newer TOTM – Tailored Operational Training Meal. They are a bit smaller, easier to transport, and have much of the same essential survival components as an MRE. This food is used in a real survival event as opposed to sitting around and waiing for something to happen. Mobility and knowledge are essential ingredients during survival. As a retired flyer, I have kept all of my small survival weatherproof booklets along with my survival gear. While I think that much of the “prepper thing” goes overboard, there are things happening that certainly give one great pause. It is always a good idea to have some preparedness in the event of a crisis such as hurricane Sandy or Katrina. With this current Administration, I could believe almost anything could happen; every day is a crisis. I am still pondering over Congressman Timothy Huelscamp’s questioning this week of the Department of Homeland Security refusal to answer questions regarding its recent purchase of huge amounts of weapons( 1.6 billion rounds of ammo and 7000 AR rifles) found on “Hotwire.com”.. enough ammo to fight the Iraq war for 27 years????

  John McCain had to learn the hard way regarding amnesty under George W when they attempted immigration reform. He thought he knew better until the country slapped him down. Unfortunately, Rand Paul’s argument had some form of legitimacy because this Administration has assasinated 4 American citizens. The people want clarity; especially under an Administration that contimiously disregards the US Constitution and the rule of law (DOMA etc.) Sen. McCain just thinks he is smarter than everyone else…….that type of arrogance has stopped him several times, including his run for the presdency.

  In defending Glen Beck, those who might wish to criticize him should check the amount of times he has been found guilty of any liable or misrepresentation of facts. He has always stayed above the fray and you know the left would love to ruin him. Glen’s methods were often right on target because he had sources in high places……. and many tried to get him; but they could not get him. Perhaps one of his most notable sucesses was the Administrations ousting of Van Jones….. The Obama Admin. Green Czar

  Abdulrahman Al-Awlaki and his father, Anwar Al-Awlaki, were both killed in targeted drone strikes and both were US citizens entitled to protections of the 5th Amendment of the US Constitution of “due process”. What should have been accomplished is a Federal court trial held in abstentia resulting in conviction of treason resulting in losing of his citizenship and all of the protections that came with it. But holding a kangaroo court of self appointed assasins is flagrant dsregard for law and worth of criminal charges itself.

  I reside in Maryland and herd Dan Bongino speak at the public “anti gun-control” rally with 4000 other 2nd Amendment supporters on Feb 6, 2013. He did a great job and those who have commented on this web page about the liberal progressive ideology of Maryland are correct and are on target. I am a retired sky-marshal and flyer and a firearms advocate for all law-abiding people. Early tomorrow, I will attend the Maryland Senate debate in the Senate chambers on Maryland’s SB 0281 which is pure tyranny of the highest order. Many liberal initiative have been passed in Maryland, but if this passes it will be the final issue that will drive my family and I out of the State. Although I am a Marylander by birth, I spent most of my adult life away as a flyer in the Air Force defending it and the US Constitution which Maryland legislators are trying to eradicate. The fortunate part of this entire debacle is that State laws rule only to their borders and I am retired. There are many companies, such as Beretta that will leave Maryland if this bill is passed. This unfortunately is the product of giving the keys to the political elite who often deceive the voters and who no longer represent their people. In all of this mess, the real issue at hand are the voting public have enabled these people. The voters often do not vote or stay uninformed of who these political people really are and what they stand for. Unfortunately, this mess will continue until that changes .
