  • Not their decision. The elephant and donkey were assigned to their respective parties by the early political cartoonist Thomas Nast. If I recall correctly, it was his jolly Santa Claus that inspired the one Coke made famous too.

  • She can’t do any better, seriously; that is the result of neurological deficiencies, not a poor education. I wish it were fake, but suspect it is not. In any case, I hope she never finds out the world is making fun of her. Are we really so insecure that we need to sit here at our computers laughing at her, being grateful that we’re more intellectually endowed?

  • …oops…
As the the Left, talking heads in the liberal media, the opposition, and even other members of Romney’s own faith continue to bear false witness and find ways to spin even this to Romney’s detriment, please keep this in mind. If Romney continues to hesitate to release more tax returns it is clearly because it is simply a pointless act of casting pearls before swine.

  • ~Culturally and by doctrine, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do their best to avoid giving alms to be seen of men. It is a private matter between the member and God. This comes from the Book of Matthew in the New Testament, Chapter 6: “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them:
otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”

~As one who has been a part of this same culture for 40 years, I am quite confident that the reason Romney did not want to release his taxes is because he did not want people knowing what he gives to charity. As I said before, I know other very wealthy LDS people who send their tithing directly to Salt Lake City because they do not even want their local leadership to know how much they contribute.

~Many members refuse to take a tax deduction for their tithe because they feel it destroys the nature of the gift.

  • Yep.That’s exactly what I was thinking. That poor, broken Taylor guitar was the best thing that ever happened to Dave Carroll, but he deserves every bit of attention he got from it.

  • Clearly it’s not the same apartment unit, but there’s nothing suspicious going on here. Someone is already living in this one. They are just starting to work on the other. So what?

  • Of course he calls you ‘Bill” you dimwit; he hasn’t got a lick respect for your rank.

  • Looks like a raccoon to me. Possums have smaller ears, as do rats. Wrong teeth for a rat, no pouch like it would have if it were a female possum… and I see no indications of it being a male… anything. I’ve never gotten a good look at the underside of a male raccoon, but male possums and rats are … obvious… as are the teeth of a rodent of any sort. Possum teeth are pretty obvious too small, regular in shape, sharp, and LOTS of them. Its whole face seems to have come undone from the skull, so it’s hard to tell there, but rot the **** off a raccoon and that’s what the body’s gonna look like. I don’t think a DNA test is necessary. Someone should be able to look at the teeth and tell for sure.

  • That was a political ad? Man, I saw was an awesome horse.

Haha. I can’t boycott anything on that list because I don’t use anything of itt anyway. On the very rare occasions that I do buy processed food, it’s never name brand. They’re awfully full of themselves if they really think no one can do without them.
