John, I support about 50% of what he said. That being that the NRA should be foremost a safety and excellence in firearms organization. That being said, I believe that the left has forced them into the position they are in now, to protect our rights. I would say, put firearms back in the education system. Back in the past, until around 1970, rifle teams and marksmanship training were in every high school. Many schools had indoor ranges. Teach children early about firearms safety. Take away the “fear” of firearms, and maybe we would get rid of some of our societal problems. If you look at our culture, when we started pushing more progressive policies in the schools in the 70′s, that was the start of our disintegration as a society. Values, right and wrong, respect are no longer taught. Today we are more worried about Johnny having two dads then teaching the foundations that will enable our culture to survive. At our current rate, I give us maybe 10 years. I weep for my newborn son.

Without Tea Party votes, republicans will lose the House, and never gain the Senate or Presidency. Good luck with that!

It is very apparent that the government no longer represents the people. Sad.

Never did I ever think I would see the day when the instruments that are supposed to protect our rights were so politicized. You cannot trust the Justice Department, the IRS, the NSA, heck even the police. Watch your back everyday. I am amazed at how the press remains silent on the politicization of supposed no bias instruments of government. If a Republican ever returns to office, those that are silent will be screaming. We are seriously on the verge of societal collapse. Sad.

As a recently retired 27 year veteran, there are a few facts people probably arent looking at. I was the Chief of Operations of a major combat division. Many of the suicides and suicide attemps were from soldiers that had never deployed. That is a fact. Many were privates that were in a great deal of discipline trouble for disrespect to drugs. I am not saying there isn’t a problem with those returning, there is, but a large majority are not combat vets. As far as the Veterans commiting suicide, I feel their pain. I have been trying for over six months to find employment. I have a Masters dgree in Engineering and tons of experience in operations, planning and project management, I apply for probably 6-10 jobs per day. Nothing. Dealing with the VA increases the feeling of hopelessness. Just changing my marital status will take over a year. Medical is a joke, and programs for people like me are non-existant. I guess if I want to flip burgers at McDonalds that’s all they see me as fit for. To go from a position where you are respected and a leader, to a place where you feel discarded by your country will push many over the edge.

I feel sorry for you too. People that have no care for the helpless among us, and for all of Gods creatures, deserve our pitty and our love. I am praying for you. God Bless.

I recently retired after serving over 27 years in uniform. Multiple combat tours, including awards with “V” devices(that’s so you know I am not a REMF). It’s not the military that causes this problem, it is the country. I have a Masters degree in engineering, tons of leadership and management experience and I have been unable to find work for over 8 months. Jobs I am completely qualified for, I can’t even get an interview. I have applied for probably hundreds of jobs. New applications every day. Nothing. There are days when it feels like my country has turned it’s back on me. It can get depressing and make you feel hopeless. I haven’t given up, but understand how some have. Shame on you America.

At Ameican Soldier (Seperated), what were you seperated for?? Drugs?? Is that why you are such a RonPaul supprter. I was a combat soldier, and commander in Iraq and Afghanistan. You have no idea what you are talking about. Most civilian casualties were done by insurgents and Al Queda. Get a grip.

At Freedom Fighter, what the F have you ever done?? Have you put on a uniform and protect innocents?? Have you stood face to face with those you disagree with?? Are you willing to stand in front of the tank in Tiennaman Square?? Or are you just some punk ass hiding in your moms basement wearing your RonPaul PJs. All you RP supporters better watch your asses. You may have a former SOF kick your butts for GP. I would suggest you let the family mourn, which is what RonPaul is not doing. That is all. You are irrelivant.

    Troll much??

  • January 22, 2013 at 6:17pm

Are you serious?? No threat?? Today, our phone calls are monitored (Patriot Act), our e-mails are read (Patriot Act), they can lock up any American without charge for an indefinite period (NDAA), there are camera’s on nearly every street corner, the NSA is building a facility that can store all data on every American, the Attorney General has OKd building files on average Americans that are under suspicion of nothing, we have drones flying over our country, and the president kills people by decree. Tyranny?? We have never been closer. And if you think it can’t happen here, Google the Battle of Athens (1946). You need to wake up.

Didn’t Hitler use children for his propaganda too? And yes, I am comparing Obama to Hitler. Both were socialists, both were incompetent, and both destroyed their countries.

@UsedCzar, you must have been in a support unit…LOL, most African Americans tend to be in support units. I know it sounds bad, but it is true. I was actually a part of a task force a few years ago that was trying to figure out how to recruit more African Americans into the combat arms. My point would be that most of the leadership LTC and down would not support this. I don’t trust many General Officers, they crave power, and are much more political. But I trust most of the LTS, SFCs and Company Comanders to do the right thing. There are some that won’t, but by and large they are good patriotic Americans. However, if you look at McArthur, he razed the veterans camp after WWI that only wanted the payments they were promised….. Kind of like our broken promises today, wait, did I just invalidate my point?? Oh well. I trust 85% of the American Soldiers, and 90% of the Marines to do the right thing….

@ Cliff, having served in combat during three tours, both Afghanistan and Iraq, been in countless fire fights, I never used the burst feature on my M4. Crew served are good for suppressive fire(M240, M2), but well placed accurate fire is what takes down the enemy. And, one of the biggest threats is us veterans. Those of us that fought in Iraq and Afghanistan know how to fight a guerilla campaign. IEDs haven’t been a threat in the US, but declare a war on the American people, and those of us that know how to fight, will be a lethal force to have to deal with. But, I still have many of my men that are Active Duty, the military would never fight that fight.

Dicks is overpriced. Academy is much better, and has a wide selection of firearms. At least they did until they sold most their inventory over the last 2 weeks….

I won’t dignify that with a comment. Come on, we all know it’s you Dingy Harry. Aren’t you supposed to be passing a budget, or perhaps looking at porn on your government computer? Tell Barry I said hi!!
