  She might as well be flipping burgers at McDonald’s! If you have a knee problem, do you go to see a brain surgeon? NO! You go see an orthopedic Dr.! The have social workers and nurses handing out diagnosis to people with real friggin problems! That’s a problem! Needless to say, I’ll never go back to the VA for anything ever again.

  The problem is the VA and the current Administration’s policy toward veterans. I can personally attest to the absolute abhorrent treatment of veterans seeking help for PTSD. The first HUGE no-no is that when a soldier calls the VA for an appointment and notifies the VA that they are having difficulty adjusting to civilian life and are feeling extremely depressed, the response is: “you’ll have to make an appointment with a general practitioner first.” How long does that take? “We can get you in 7 days from now.” I’m thinking, really? But I say, ok. Get to said appointment and Doc does all the general check up procedures with blood work, ect. During the interview part he asks, “Do you have any guns at the house?” Ahhh, Noooo?!? All said and done, he refers me to a shrink, of which you have to make ANOTHER appointment to see someone. Ok. I go to make the appointment. She says, “we can get you in 6 WEEKS from now.” Are you freaking kidding me? I say, “I’m feeling like this now, 6 weeks from now I might be dead. I’ll handle it on my own.” My wife has a Phd in Marriage and Family Therapy, so I wasn’t sweating it too much. I get all the free therapy I need :-) Six weeks rolls around and I go ahead and go to the appointment. After talking with her for an hour, she makes the diagnosis that I do not have PTSD. Hmm.I ask what her qualifications are. She states that she is a Nurse Practitioner with emphasis in psychiatry, or something along those lines. Really?

  LOL! Served in Iraq and A-Stan. They handed these out like candy to anyone that was E-6 and above. Our entire company was blanketed with the Combat Infantryman’s Badge because “someone saw some tracers several thousand meters away”. Even the POG’s sitting on there asses at the base received them! Needless to say, I never wore mine. Completely disgusting!

  Whater39, you must be one of the low information voters. Did you know that only 4% of the murders caused by firearms are from rifles, much less “assault rifles”? Do you know that 85% are from handguns? Of course you don’t. The argument is so asinine!
