  Tiffany Gabey. Please ask your SEAL friend this question. Why so many hollow point bullets? Hollow point bullets are not for training. The 9mm FMJ bullets are. Besides, even if they used the hollow points for training, it’s a waste of tax payer dollars. They are more expensive. The purpose for a hollow point bullet is to inflict the most damage against a person….not a target.

  Jacketed Hollow Point ammo is not banned in the Geneva Convention. It was however banned in the Hague Convention of 1899. NATO troops still honor that treaty. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollow-point_bullet
