Craziest Hockey Goal You’ve Seen? Puck Literally Splits in Half During Shot: Should the Score Count?
March 18, 2013 at 6:01pm
The score counts. Any part of the puck that crosses the line, even if it is not the whole puck, still counts as a score. If the very tip of a puck crosses the edge of the goal line, even if the entire puck does not, nor if the puck is knocked back out, nor enters the netted area, the goal is counted. If half a puck breaches the line, it’s a goal. It is the same in football. If the tip of the ball crosses the edge of the goal line, the score is counted if the player is not down. The only difference is in hockey the player does not have to physically possess the puck. It can be swatted (or shot) in.

Weaponized Paper Airplanes? You Got to See It to Believe It!
March 7, 2013 at 4:33pm
My friends and I used to do this kind of stuff back in Jr High. It was quite fun actually. The idea was to see which of us could build the best equipment and then go out and work them with targets in the woods. Later on in high school, we moved on to CO2 pistols and such, but making the paper planes or wooden darts or tennis ball cannons was all part of the fun of growing up. We’d load up our stuff, jump on our bikes and ride out into the forrest and have at it. As long as we were home for lunch and then in the evening, everything was fine. Some times it was just riding bikes and throwing rocks in a stream, or playing frisbee golf, go karts, skate boards… right before I graduated high school we had motorbikes and used to go to the shooting range to fire off .22s at targets. (We never took those into the woods, unlike the BB and pellet guns.)
