  I think that these statements from McCain and Graham reflect the total (willful?) misunderstanding of what Paul was doing – he was taking things to the extreme, to point out the kind of extreme that things COULD be taken to, not saying that this is what was actually going to happen.

  I was raised by Conservatives, but when I went out on my own, became more liberal. However, I hope that I can see the wood for the trees when it comes to agreeing with a point a Conservative makes – I just happen to disagree with most of what they say. I think a lot of Liberals, including some that I count as friends, are being very childish on this issue, and letting their like of the president, and distaste for Rand Paul and the GoP, cloud their judgment here.

  Big liberal here, but after a bout of childish “but it’s Rand Paul, so it must be wrong,” I really sat down and went over the issues. And… well… he was awesome. He really impressed me with the maturity of his discussion, his reasoning, and his stance. Just goes to show that we don’t have to concur on all, or even much, to see that some things are wrong.
