Oh great! Now knives kill people. We really need crack down on these crazed knifemen who are clearly obtaining these knives illegally. I know…we make anyone who wants to buy a knife get a background check in Wal-mart….at least it would be a low low prices.

I wish people reading these stories about America’s political and societal issues would stop pointing the blame at someone or something. Every single issue we have in America can be solved through parenting. You blame the school system? Well, then maybe you should have been more intercative with what your kids were learning. You blame video game, music, and movies? Well, I guess you should have been more careful with what you buy your kids. You blame guns? Shame on you for thinking an inanimate object can suddenly do harm. That is just ignorant.

Look I am not a very religous person so I can not really take religion into account with what I believe is right. It is no different with this whole gay issue. I can totally understand the devotes opposistion to gay marriage because the interpretation (as I have come to know it) of gays in general says it is immoral and should be punished. Now I don’t like any display of public affection even if it is with a straight couple, keep it private, and I certainly don’t like another man hitting on me, but I am not so sure that allowing gays to marry is a good or bad thing. My point is that it will be allowed by federal law in this country at some point and I am not saying you have to embrace it because you don’t and you don’t have to accept it BUT you will have to tolerate it. Just like the blacks got their freedom and right to vote, and just like women got the right to vote; gays will be able to get married and we must tolerate it.

@Moosey What Im saying is that anytime someone starts to bring up gun control they use not just video games but movies, TV, and music. Its just ridiculous and by the way the gaming industry has faced more scutiny today than movies ever have. I mean for god’s sake a game called Mass Effect which has had 2 other sequels has a sex scene in each of them BUT none of them show the characters personal parts only A LOT of skin. Yet movies can show a dick flopping around or a full on bush and no one says anything. Mass Effect got a lot of attention for their sex scenes because it was emotionally moving. Honestly, I have played my fair share of video game but NONE of them not even movies can match the emotional experience those moments bring. It may sound crazy to those of you who don’t really play video games but games offer a more personalized experience and what Mass Effect brings is choices and choices with consequenses that effect the world around you even the person who you choose to be romantically involved with. Like I said it may sound wierd for those who don’t understand what I am going on about but don’t judge it if you have never tried it.

@Conkuur I get where your coming from and is one of the points I was trying to make. Since our women do have more equality now they are not around as much as they would have been heck as early as the 80s and since our economy is so bad familys now almost have to have 2 paychecks whether it is from 2 jobs with one parent or 2 jobs with both parents. It is ashame because the children are the ones who get hurt in those regards.
Now Im not saying all of today’s parents are terrible at teaching their kids what they need to know but some are and I certainly doubt that it is the majority. Some parents are just being deprived of time with their kids at a time and society that really needs parental guidance so they come out clean on the other end.

Oh sorry I was too distracted by the sexy women in the false adds on the right side of my page to give two craps about who Obama thinks is good looking. Why is this news? Bill Clinton thought Lewinsky was sexy but at least they got a little suckle action going, now that is news. So Obama has a taste in women so what? I do too but Im not on the news, maybe I should claim Im heterosexualy on Leno’s show…oh wait I mean Fallon’s show and then maybe I’ll get some attention that I don’t need

Yup, they say that the electric car technology is still new so it will get better, but if my mind serves me correctly I am pretty sure that electricity has been around a lot longer than any petrol combustion engine. Heck even before they started with this electric car craze little cars like the honda civic could do up to 40 mpg AND if you got a little larger more practical car and put a diesel engine in it you could get up in the 50s IN CITY! No electric OR hybrid car can being to even touch that

I have heard and read that the people who make these whilsting fairies say the the magical pixie powered batteries last about 5-10 years then you have to cough up more save the trees money to get more magic pixie power in your Detroit Moth Fart.

So you take pride in putting out a car calling it original when really it is a Tesla Roadster with a different body? Im not old enough to remember the golden days of Detroit but what those days produced still have a effect on today. I would honestly rather take credit for a total piece of turd that I came up with than take some piece from a similar product, change the appearance and call it original. Don’t get me wrong I love the fact that the people that made it have jobs creating it however, I don’t take pride in it being a Dollar General electric rip off of someone else’s idea. That is the way Detriot works nowadays at least in their cars. They take other manufacturers’ material and put a new face on it. Another example of that is the Chrysler 300. All that car is is a Mercedes CLK chasis with a Chrysler body. I would be more willing to buy that car if 1.) It really was all American and 2.) If I didn’t look like a total Chode while driving it. The only person who would look good in that car is a person who says “OH GOOD! I’ve got syphilis the best of the sexually transmitted diseases.” Oh and i also wouldn’t buy it because is creates more pollution to make than trying to offroad a Hummer in front of a Polar Bear reserve.

I agree with everything you said except for the first 2 sentences. Blaming video games, music, movies, and television does nothing. It is exactly like saying people with guns don’t kill people, the gun is completely to blame. It is just a way to put a picture to our fears. For example what do you picture when you think of 9/11? Maybe a plane, the towers, our flag, maybe a muslim? The point is however you choose to remember it, that image you have chosen the associate with that event will always make you remember what happened. Same thing with gun control and violence it is no different we choose to point fingers outwards instead of looking inwards and saying “What am I doing wrong?”

I am realy sick of people in almost every news outlet blaming video games, movies, and music on how our society acts. Its a load of crap. It is just something to point the blame on because nowadays the parent CAN’T POSSIBLY be the issue. No the problem are the parents of the children. If you are a good parent you will explain the your children that what happens in these video games is not real and if they try to do these things people can get really hurt. Unfortunetly parents now are either so tied up in thier jobs because they have to work multiple ones or they are just to lazy to explain this to their kids.
The problem is parents use these medias as babysiters instead of actually talking and interacting with their kids. I know this because this is EXACTLY how I was raised. Luckily I had sense enough to know what could happen if I tried the things I saw. BTW for those of you who don’t know there is a rating system to these video games much like there are for movies in a theater except they are much more controlled for example if a 16 year old wanted to by a game rated M for mature (17+) they would have to present an ID or they would have to have a parent present with them. So the blame can all be traced back to the parent and the break down of our family system. For those of you who think that the violence in video games has a damaging effect on kids minds look at this video of a “next-gen” game and maybe you will pay more attention to what you kids do http://www.battle

Someone correct me if Im wrong but isn’t the whole point of owning a 135K car is for it to either go fast, exude luxary, or provide an experience that cannot be matched? Im sorry but for me owning a sports car means actually hearing the engine roar with power of 100 gods. Also, anyone who knows anything about cars can see that that car is NOT a detriot car, hell it isn’t even and American car. It is Lotus Elise chasis(British car company) with Chinese batteries. The only thing Detriot about this car is the people who made it.
