  • Hmmm, as a Brit it’s no exaggeration to say that the general feeling is that despite its flaws, British people are genuinely proud of the NHS and what it represents. Its poltical opponents are keen to highlight long waiting lists or isolated horror stories but 99% of the time the NHS provides a brilliant service that is far, far cheaper per capita than the US system and provides better health care in terms of outcomes and customer satisfaction, too. I haven’t met a single American who has lived here who hasn’t left with a glowing assessment of the NHS, even those who previously held very fixed views about the evils of ‘socialised’ medicine.
