  I agree Carrie – donations generally bring in more than a fee. Donation car washes seem to always collect more for our school groups than ones who set a price.

  The “Center for Science in the Public Interest” is nothing but a group of socialism motivated, busy bodies. They don’t care about science in the slightest and their only public interest is government control of your life. They have no credibility and should be treated as such. I am so sick of people like that having a say in the way we are governed (or should I say controlled).

  To be fair, First Solar doesn’t fit into the mold of most “Green Energy Companies.” They are almost as much a construction company as they are a solar panel manufacturer. They are selling a long term product including operation and maintenance, they aren’t just trying to cash in for a quick buck.

  They are expanding world wide, not just in China, and they are doing it with American ingenuity.

  I am as (or more) opposed to government loans, but if you look at their projects you’ll see that they have Billions in sales that aren’t based on government loans, and they aren’t sitting on their behinds waiting for government money to grow the company.

  In my opinion, if solar is to ever become viable (Which I seriously doubt), it will be First Solar who leads the way.

  In these cases (When they are picking winners and losers based on lobbying efforts) they always fall back “public health” or “public safety” or “for the children”. We must restore liberty as a superior principle in our public life. We can’t let them change the argument.
