“of every man’s creed who has any creed at all – I believe in God” (emphasis Paine’s)

“Fake it til you make it.” That’s my advice to atheists; at least try to make your views palatable to current mores and beliefs. This hissy fit turns people off, and does not make them sympathetic.
Scale it back where you have to, push ahead where you can.

Reverend Roger Williams lived from 1603-1683
His words were born from an understandable suspicion of government in those times. Reverend John Greenwood was executed in 1593 by Queen Elizabeth, who was then head of both the State and Church. Greenwood protested such a juxtaposition, “that there could be but one head to the church and that head was not the Queen, but Christ!”
The State’s response? They executed him for “denying Her Majesty’s ecclesiastical supremacy and attacking the existing ecclesiastical order.”
This is where most of the original Pilgrims come in. They went to the colonies to escape such tyranny, as many of us know.
But this is the precedence for keeping the two apart, throughout history, it was not the Church seizing property from the State: just the opposite.
Early Quaker Will Wood, “The separation of Church and State does not mean the exclusion of God, righteousness, morality, from the state.”

This is just too funny. Jon Stewart and SNL must be salivating to use this story, right?

A suspected terrorist is one that has made serious threats against others.
A known terrorist is one who has executed these threats.
To lose track of the latter is a serious fumble

Another well written essay by Rich Deem (yes, I admit I’m a bit of a fanboy)
But then again, I realize that’s every topic on homosexuality that’s been on this website since January 23rd.
May we pwease talk about what we want to talk about next time?

26 posts by HarryPotter on the front page alone.
I didn’t realize the title of this article was “The HarryPotter Talk Show”

Insult, insult, insult, insult.
Every Jrook post is the same: cutting, rude, and grounds for dismissal in any official debate.

Also, since you posted the idea, maybe that’s what we’ll start doing. I was 9 months old on November 2nd. As of now, I am 20 instead of 19. You’ve pushed my legal drinking age forward, thank you!

Certain angles when looked at make it seem like an issue of national security.
We had a birth rate of 2.10 last year. For those in microeconomics, 2.1 is the minimum “replacement rate” for the workforce of the country. Otherwise, we shrink, and have to curl back industry. That is hazardous to the rest of the country, and threatens our superpower status, if we cannot keep producing gross domestic product.
You can argue any which way against abortion, and they’d all be valid. Bottom line, how is having more people in the world a bad thing?
However, this is a purely black and white issue. If you do not believe a life is a life, I’m sorry, I don’t know how we can possibly have an honest discussion.

Asking when a baby is conceived is vulgar. Try asking your parents this.I only know mine through mathematics. 9 month pregnancy to the date means I was conceived on Groundhog’s Day.
And many people DO think of possible names before a child is old enough to breathe on his or her own ( I had several name ideas by my parents )
But if you’re going to base your beliefs on what’s trendy and popular, you’re not worth our time.

Okay my numbers were wayyyyy off about the 50 million. Not all of these children killed were of black families. I can speak personally to knowing white girls in high school who go through with this procedure, and make up the lame excuse of “Oh, I miscarried.”
It’s, no doubt, a sensitive subject that I flubbed
