  garbagecanlogic, you are totally wrong. There are multiple animal species who have been known to take same sex partners, Dolphins are one i can think of off the top of my head.

  Second, using religion against people is wrong, ineffective and inaccurate. The King James version, where ALL bible’s are translated from is inaccurate, because King James was KNOWN to be a self hating homosexual, on top of that he was totally bigoted against women. He changed a lot of what the bible says. When you study the Original Greek, or Aramaic, those passages you use against people are totally different. Also it only adds to the fire that Atheists use against Christians. They point that kind of stuff out, saying that GOD should be removed from everything because Christians hate more people than anyone else. Personally, I know that GOD doesn’t Hate anyone, that is the other guy’s job.

  Third, my “handle” is thebluearies, why is it that you have to degrade your point by trying to degrade me? Isn’t that something Liberals do?

  And while you may not want someone who is gay working for you, the next time you don’t hire someone tell them you aren’t hiring them because they are gay, and see how long you keep your business.

  Yes, she is entitled to her opinions, but as MAYOR she is held to a higher standard, and shouldn’t broadcast those opinions in a public forum, its simply unacceptable.

  A_CALL_TO_CONSCIENCE, I didn’t say anything about anyone’s right to say what they said. I would defend their right to say it, but i ALSO have the right to respectfully disagree with it. I didn’t call anyone names, nor did i insult anyone’s intelligence.

  Zap, Someone who is gay is NOT mentally ill, that’s ludicrous even to think.

  In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder. The American Psychological Association Council of Representatives followed in 1975. Thereafter other major mental health organizations followed and it was finally declassified by the World Health Organization in 1990.

  You personally may not like gays, or what they do in the bedroom, but it doesn’t make them mentally ill, NOR should it prevent gays from getting any job that any other person should be able to get.

  You sit in judgment of someone you don’t even know, but what if this was someone in your family, a son, or daughter, or whatever, would you feel the same way? No, you wouldn’t(unless you are completely heartless). You would be outraged that your family member was discriminated against, and you would be right to think so.

  All of you people who spoke poorly of a MAN, WHO PUTS HIS LIFE ON THE LINE, to protect and serve his city should be ashamed of yourselves.
  The fact that he is gay, should have nothing to do with how is treated at work. He is just doing his job and shouldn’t be harassed by the mayor or anyone else for his personal life.
  We live in a country that welcomes ALL, regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation.
  And calling him a Tranny is just disgusting. You wouldn’t know what a tranny was if one was staring you in the face.
  Its these kind of totally disgusting remarks that give the Republican party a bad name. It’s why Republicans have been loosing elections, because Republicans aren’t willing to come into the 21st century and embrace those people who WOULD elect more Republicans if the party would support more inclusive measures for all, not just straight people.
  Times have changed, and ALL PEOPLE deserve respect, not because of the color of their skin or their sexual orientation, but for the content of their character. This MAN, is a HERO, and he would take a bullet to protect the citizens of his county and state, AND SHOULD BE treated with dignity and respect.

  From the comments, I am seeing so much hate. It’s oozing out of the christian’s on this site and why? Because a politician said he liked an artist, big deal! You dont have to like Lady GaGa, or even agree with her. but all the hate that is spewing forth for her is not christian. GOD TEACHES US TO LOVE, NOT HATE.

  This is why so many Christians get a bad rap, because they preach love and kindness on one hand and then they go out into the streets and spout hate and intolerance on the other.

  The song “Born this way” message is very simple, GOD loves us ALL, no matter who we are, what color, race, religon, or orientation. the Bible is very clear on this, before we were formed, GOD knew us and approved of us. Even Jesus preached love for the sinners of the world.

  Now you can agree or disagree with that all you want, but stop the hate. It isn’t christian.

  I have read a lot of the comments, and when I was in school (im 35) I was taught cursive and while I have never really been great at it, I understand the importance of it. what I havent seen is a comparison to other cultures.

  Japan for instance, their kids are taught how to neatly write Japanese (now i know there is no cursive form of that language) but they are also taught how to type as well. But the script the Japanese use has to be perfect, if a line is in the wrong place, it changes the meaning of a word.

  I guess what I am getting at is I dont see why both cant be taught. start teaching typing after the handwriting/cursive lessons. have the teachers spend less time trying to teach our kids about how to be eco friendly and “green” and teach them how to type instead. I see the value in both as both are necessary.
