@Greenwood and others: Why has Paul’s statement that he desired to “depart and be with Christ” rather than continue in the body, and 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 or 2 Corinthians 12:1-5 not been mentioned as reason that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord??”

@TheMonk: “chest-high water” means he was never submerged which means he merely had to stand or be standing in order to be surfaced. And, wouldn’t a logical presumption be that the number of times was exaggerated for emphasis rather than you two trying to tell the man who was there that only one stab occurred? Have you never used exaggeration for emphasis? Come, now, Monk. I have come to expect more from you than that.

Funny how Mrs. Aronson stated that saying the name of Jesus spoken doesn’t give it any more power while she complains about the fact it was said aloud. If His name spoken holds no power why does His name illicit such a strong reaction?

Maybe they need clarification on the term replica within the context of the policies writing and implementation. Although a replica, a “quarter-sized gun” on a key chain was surely not the target of the policy, but replicas that are look and feel like an actual weapon. Neither would a shirt with a picture of a weapon fall under the policy’s prohibition. What you have is a liberal view and interpretation of the policy…much like the prevalent view of the Constitution. What you have is a lack of commonsense and wisdom.

If the Establishment gets so riled by Sen. Cruz, that most likely indicates a challenge to their influence. The beautiful thing is that Sen. Cruz speaks truth through sound logic so Sen. King’s name-calling and throwing a tantrum just makes Peter King appear juvenile and insecure. And, I certainly don’t think Sen. Cruz is crazy. I appreciate that he took the opportunity to state in one sitting the narrative before, during, and after the formation of, passing of, and implementation of this absurd legislation.

@blinknight: So, as a citizen of this nation, do you not suffer because of the ignorance and poor choices of the few? As a member of your state, county, municipality, etc., aren’t you affected by the consequences of peoples choices? To illustrate the same principal at the most basic level, when a family member makes a choice, the repercussions of the choice impact the other members of the family. Do you understand that living in community is by design? “Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.” “Love your neighbor as yourself.” “Upon these two commandments depend all the Law and Prophets.” What we do impacts others all day, every day. You cannot change this fact whether you ignore it or throw a tantrum because “it’s not fair.” Maybe these boys will learn the weight of a choice and the responsibility to choose selflessly.

Smh. The gall of some people. How dare these grounds crewmen…sorry…crew persons…scribble a couple symbols on the mound. How traumatic for Mr. Vines! How unfair! Isn’t it apparent that Christians don’t have the freedom to write a symbol in dirt anymore? Don’t Christians know by now that every breath and word and choice needs to be passed through the politically correct fire? If someone doesn’t believe the same, freedoms are forfeited so that a minority controls all with their disdain for a God who is evident and demands they die to self. Humility and the self-gratification accompanying narcissism are fruit of different roots.

I recognize context. Joking or not, Jamie Foxx, if you are a true follower of Christ, I cannot comprehend this statement of honor to a fallible and, often, wickedly selfish man. Jesus is our Substitute. Barack Obama isn’t worthy to even loosen the sandals Jesus wore much less stand in them. I do not judge you, Jamie Foxx. Compassion remains from the well of compassion of which Jesus is the embodiment and source. I pity the grains of sincerity in your statement masked in a “joke.” You spoke from the great influence the spirit of the antichrist has exerted on you and the black community. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Light, the Bread of Life, the Living Water, our Savior and Lord, King of Kings…and He alone can accept those labels in Truth.
