  • Well, if our country had been founded on Native American principles I guess we would have no complaint now.

Unless our intent was to abolish their religion and get everyone to acknowledge mine, or none at all, instead, eh?

  • TIMEOUT, if you plaster that stuff all over your car, maybe it will remind you not to drive aggressively.

It kinda sounds like that’s what you’re implying.

    I’m just sayin…

  • Good point HI. The fruit doesn’t drop very far from the tree.

  • CRAZY, no, it’s called not having your cake and eating it too. You can’t have it both ways. If Christian religious symbols are outlawed in public places, so must also be those of other religions.

It’s just sad that it has to come down to this. No good will ever come of it.

  • Hey PATTY…

    Deet Da Deeee!

  • I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you, but I think it’s up to each and every one of us to weed out the bad ones. We, and our knowledge of the Scriptures are the only line of defense against these false teachers. The problem is, few “practicing” Christians actually read and study their Bible. Most just open to the page and verse their pastor points to when he preaches. Considering the sad state of apostasy “the church” is in, it would do many Christians more good to stay at home (or turn off their TV) and read their Bibles rather than listening to these false teachers.

  • DEAVON, you may not use an illegitimate definition of “legitimate” to validate your argument. I realize Libs will say whatever it takes, but I’m calling you on that one. Your definition of a legitimate Christian pastor doesn’t pass muster. It’s not just about “feelings.” It’s first and foremost about preaching and teaching the Gospel. Baby sitting the drama queens in the congregation should be the job of the Elders.

And what “legitimate” reason, can you offer, to justify arrogantly ripping pages out of the Bible, for no reason other than you don’t particularly like what it says on those pages? Especially considering the fact that literally none of the challenges made to the Bible over the last 2000 years have demonstrated a “legitimate” claim of error.

  • UUFDA, Evil doers? You know not of what you speaketh.

I command you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his Kingdom: preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching. For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables. But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry. 2 Tim 4:1-5.

By giving Osteen a free ride on his false teaching, you jeopardize not only your own salvation but of those who may follow him because of your endorsement.

  • “Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Matt 5:11-13

  • PATTY, It doesn’t matter, the guy teaches heresy. Type “Joel Osteen heretic” into your search engine and come back and apologize to us in a couple weeks after you’ve checked out a few of his quotes and found out for yourself.
