I’m not against firearms at all. I’m against putting them in schools. My mother is 59 years old taking care of a blind husband and two autistic children in a neighborhood that never had any break-ins until this young couple moved in next door. It would be insane for me to be anti-gun in such a situation. My father however is a pastor so he’s vehemently anti-gun and they can’t have one because there are two autistic children in the home.
Do you know what could have averted this tragedy? Helping the young man before he descended into violence. The signs were obviously there but everybody ignored them. That’s another tragedy in this situation.
I also pray I’m never in such a situation, and pray you also never face it. The difference is that while I mean it sincerely you were being a condescending *****.

    @ RJJinGadsden
That’s nice. I was in the inner city school system for my whole life. My high school had police officers, but they did not carry guns, they carried tasers. Yet still they never once had to use them. All of this while I had to hear about how my school had gang fights in the middle of the school day (another blatant lie). There are two reasons for this; the police who acted as security were more than well equipped to handle situations, and we had an excellent guidance counselor (she passed recently) who cared deeply for the students and could talk even some of the craziest people down. So don’t tell me that guns will solve the issue because the assertion isn’t based on facts. The best way to stop a crazy person isn’t intervention it’s prevention.

The only problem with your assertion is that it is simply not true. You have nothing to support it but pure conjecture. The fact of the matter is that people are more likely to be shot by a family member or somebody they know than a case such as Newton. Your gun is more likely to be used by you or somebody close to you to shoot somebody you know than it is to defend yourself. That’s just fact. Based on that putting arms into the hands of somebody they know is actually more likely to produce more incidents.

LOL that was great. LaPierre pushes guns in schools, protester shuts him down.

I worked for a television company for a while, so I can tell you it’s not that difficult. For example a female called in and wanted to setup an account but gave me the name Fred. My manager happened to be listening and said “Set it up. We aren’t the police it’s not our job to check that.”

Speaking as somebody who has two autistic siblings I find this despicable. Is this the level that people are willing to stoop to?

Had I been the opposing coach it wouldn’t have got this far. The minute it was 50 to 2 I would have quietly told all the girls “Okay, don’t say anything, just when we come to a break go get your stuff and get on the bus because I think they’re about to 100 to 2 us.”

This is very sad. We as people should never allow politics to enter our lives this way.

The President’s statement is in line with the majority of polls. Or are those wrong again? You’d think you people would have learned about doubting polls after Tuesday.
