  I voted for the Romney/Ryan team because I truly believed they could have made a difference; they would have turned us towards a nation that has jobs aplenty instead of a land of government assistance. But they lost. :(

  I am due to retire in 5 years from the State of Florida (at which time I will have put in 20 years as a secretary). The implementation of Obamacare & this action by the governor has helped me make up my mind to retire now instead of waiting another 5 years. Why?

  If I wait the 5 years, I will get about $250 more per month than if I retire now. But I have been struggling with health issues. I have managed to keep working in spite of it & the health insurance has been a God-send. If I wait to retire in 6 years, the cost of retiree healthcare for that State of Florida will pretty much eat up about $300 per month of my retirement pay.

  But if I retire now, I will qualify for the new Medicaid expansion. And I will also qualify for $200 worth of food stamps. You do the math! With my poor health, why should I wait?

  I have worked my fingers to the bone since I was 15 years old. Paid more than my fair share of taxes. Never asked for a dime in government assistance. And now? This old chick with poor health says the heck with working the rest of the flesh off my bones! I am tired of being the responsible party & quite frankly, my health is not up to it anymore.

  Not all of the recipients of the new Medicaid expansion will be illegals or Ghetto dwellers.

  This is persecution of citizens! The media has gone too far. People have armed themselves according to the 2nd Amendment. My God; these attacks against citizens are getting out of hand! If you have not already done so, please join the NRA and fight back.

  I agree Elderbat. If we want to punish her expressing her freedom of speech (regardless of whether or not we agree with her), “we are going down a very dangerous path” indeed.

  The “Freedom of Speech” amendment was put in place to protect unpopular speech. The woman has the right to express herself, and she should be able to do so without worrying that she could get fired from her job for something she did on her own time.

  My God! If we are going to become Big Brother over Facebook posts, I am going to delete my Facebook page!

  @ Joey G: Some at FOX are getting on my last nerve. Obama being re-elected was bad, but the establishment GOP’ers have been spouting a bunch of nonsense this week, running about with their tails drooping and acting as if they are ready to bow down to Obama and the liberals.

  I still cautiously support the GOP, but I wonder if they will cave in and sell us down the rest of the river? Will Tea Partiers break away and join the Libertarians or form their own party? Who knows. We cannot count on either of the two major parties (the dems or the GOP) to save our country. We – each one of us – must do our parts in holding the establishment accountable to “We the People” or else our country will continue to slide into the kind of socialistic nightmare that Europeans must live with.

  Some in the establishment care more about holding on to their own power, prestige, and positions than they do about defending the ideals and values that made America great. My local Tea Party is going to call the establishment out as necessary and remind them that the founding principles that made America great are the same ones that will solve our challenges. Find a Tea Party group near you. Tuesday’s loss was terrible, but the GOP retained control of the House. Thank God or there would be no representation or a way to push back. To protect the rights that our founders secured for us, we must get involved and follow their lead. If not us, who? Fight on!

  Study history. Because those who do not are doomed to repeat it. Do we Americans want our govt to have the ability to remove private ownership of guns, giving regimes ultimate power & control over us? Do we want our Christian churches destroyed someday by a regime that hates Christians? It is a fact that Christianity has been increasingly disparaged in America. How about Tea Partiers? Hatred of them is high among certain segments of the population. Will the day come when the mobs are incited to round up the Tea Partiers? The gun-toters? The white people flying their Confederate Flags? Rich people? Republicans, conservatives, right-to lifers, smokers, over-eaters, SUV drivers, meat eaters? And for you lefties, would you change your opinion if the govt could round up abortionists, vegetarians, Muslims, Democrats, liberals, environmentalists, or homosexuals?

  Yeah, I know it all seems so far-fetched & perhaps I do exaggerate a bit. But an unarmed populace has no power! When they come for YOU, then what?
