Romney Was ‘Shell-Shocked’ After Learning of Election Loss, Aides Say: ‘It Was Like a Sucker Punch’

No and I don’t know why you are attacking me. I’m simply saying less government is better. Its a conservative libertarian view. What our founding fathers built this country on. Government’s sole responsibility is to protect its people so of course murder and pedophilia would not be ok. Don’t shoot the messenger. I’m just stating reality. What our country is moving toward. The blaze posted an article earlier today something like “should GOP drop its conservative social views”. I only want obama to be stopped and continuing on the path the GOP is on is never going to stop him and other like him. Perhaps the GOP shouldn’t change at all. Perhaps a 3rd party needs to replace it. It has to happen or our country is doomed. That’s all. Read the article.
Is It Time for the GOP to Abandon Social Conservatism?

More of us need to start thinking like this. The conservatives aren’t attracting young voters. Government should not dictate our choices in life. Freedom! Thats what its all about.

I have a very hard time with this. But I think that NANCY is correct. I am adamantly against abortion on a personal and moral level. But I think that there’s not much we can do at this point. God will be the judge of these people. It does seem wrong on some level though. Because our government is supposed to protect life. Especially the defenseless. Its hard but I think its a losing battle for government to continue this fight. But I absolutely do not think that any tax dollars should be funding abortions ever!

I absolutely agree with this. Freedom for people to choose what they want to do with their own lives even if everyone doesn’t moral agree with it. If we do not drop the social issues and look at the bigger picture of possible economic collapse our country is going to fail under the never ending spending spree of the liberals.

No no not at all. Founding principles should absolutely stay the same. It not just for the sake of changing. Its for the sake of saving our country. The republicans are getting less popular with young people simply because the emerging ideas that they have are that they could care less if gays married or if pot legal for example. It should be about freedom. That is the main principle our country was founded on. Personally i don’t agree with gay marriage but its the same as when blacks were fighting for civil rights. Eventually gays will have that right everywhere whether the republicans like it or not. What is so much more important than that is saving our county from economic ruin. But people see 2 parties. One emphasizes more freedom on social issues but spends money like theres no tomorrow. The other is more restrictive on social issues but wants to cut spending. I’m sure there are many idiots that voted for obama just because of social issues even though they wished spending could be controlled. If these people were offered a party that cut spending and was flexible on social issues don’t you think that party might have a chance against the liberals? I’m not sure if this would ever even work. Its really just a question. I just don’t see conservatives getting anymore popular with younger voters if everything stays the same. What do you think?

Perhaps. Don’t forget though- there are an awful lot of uninformed dumb people in this country that only get the info from mainstream media. The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.

The Republican Party is either going to have to change some or a 3rd party is going to need to emerge. Although I agree with much of the Republican party’s policies. I tend to lean more libertarian on social issues. People should be free to choose their path in their own life even if others do not agree with it. I am only 25 and I can say for certain that the Republican party is becoming less and less appealing to voters my age and younger. Even though I am fully aware that the republican party is not a group of woman hating, racist, old white men many young people have this view of them. The question is what does the republican party do to change this view and is it even possible? Because if they continue on as they have been there’s no way they will ever win another presidential election and we’ll have to continue living in a nanny state that rewards laziness and punishes hard work. Our children and grandchildren’s lives depend on this. Something must get done.

I can’t believe this crap. More debt. Less freedom. More government. Can’t wait to see what the next 4 year bring!

I agree that the republicans are not much better than the democrats. But a vote for obama is a vote for socialism. I can’t see how the libertarian party could support that considering they are for smaller goverment and individual freedom. Perhaps some of the social aspects of obama’s policies are in line with the libertarians but for God’s sake it is blatantly obvious that Obama only wants to grow the federal goverment.
