Yeah more time off for my former co-”workers” at the FDA lab. The same ones who sit around for the first 3 hours of the day goofing off, then start an analysis that take 6 hours to complete. Then request credit time (a form of comp time) to finish the analysis. Or maybe the ones who start a 5 day analysis on Wed (that they were assigned on Monday) so that they have to come in with overtime on Sat and Sun (they are paid a minimum of 2 hours even if its 15 minutes of work).

Meant feel really “good to” know

It should make you feel really know that FDA promotes office assistants to GS 12 levels. I know of one in the NW USA with less than 5 years experience and a associates degree who makes this salary and does little more than process time cards and supply orders.
Now work on FDA bonuses. I saw an employee get a bonus for helping someone take out trash, another for going on a trip at a moments notice once in 10 years (even though she was promoted to a GS 13 level so that she would do things like this), another for planning parties that employees participated in during duty hours, and a supervisor ordering a subordinate to recommend him for a bonus just because he wanted one. I could go on but its depressing.

More likely this person would stand behind the soldier and ask him to save him.

I went into the Comcast store to return my cable box. I was the only customer in the store. I walked up to one of three reps sitting behind the counter doing nothing. He said to me, “Sir you have to take a number.” I walked back to the machine and took a paper number. The same guy called me forward and waited on me. I felt like I was Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents and the airport plane boarding scene.
The VA has money for sex change treatments while turning this vet away with obvious service connected problems. I know this is true because my son worked at a northwest VA for awhile and saw these patients.

If US citizens would speak with their cash they could get things done. Cancel all vacations and cruises to Mexico. Look how fast Costco responded when thousands threatened to and many did cancel memberships.

Stay at home moms do their share of attacking women who work outside the home. Some people seem to want to attack people who make choices different from their own on how they raise their kids.

I wonder if Chelsie’s yet to be born child is already listed on staff there.

Did Lois Lerner know about this?

The FDA refused to recognize my son’s military training as a corpsman as science based courses. Yet they have no problem hiring 100s of foreign school trained non-native citizens and accepting their courses. How do they verify that universities in Asia, eastern Europe, and the middle east are truly accredited and not just degree mills?
Was it the FDA directly? There is an independent entity that certifies military courses for "academic" credit. It is too stingy IMO. No credit for me completing Submarine Officer's Basic Course, for example. Your son's training should CLEARLY be accorded academic credit -- he was trained to save people's LIVES for goodness sakes!

This is a great story. I love hearing about support for our service men and women. On another note, every business that hires a returning vet from Iraq and Afghanistan also deserves praise. Thank you Mayo Clinic for taking a chance and hiring a combat vet family member of mine.

FDA pays some office assistants GS 12 and 13 salaries (thats 65 to 100k+) Some of them have no more than an associates degree and are essentially secretaries. They make more than many lab chemists or field investigators who do the real work for then agency. There should be a bench audit to see if these folks are really worth the bucks.

Of course they are lying. When I worked for the feds, everything was backed up nightly. It stayed on site for a certain amount of time and then was sent to a government archive off site. I saw many a file restored after employees quit and thought they had erased their computer files.

I tried contacting my senator (Isakson) about this incident. Didn’t even get the courtesy of a response. The other one is retiring; didn’t even bother to contact him. Where is our president in all this? He managed to weigh in on the Donald Sterling nonsense.
