‘Read the Bible Jack A#%’: Dr. Pepper Sparks Creationist Outrage Over ‘Evolution of Flavor’ Facebook Ad

Why is everyone here so mad all the time? Can’t we just have a calm, productive conversation where we listen to each other’s arguments rationally, don’t personally attack anyone, and all go have a drink afterward?
I’m a staunch anti-theist as well, but there are much better ways to get your point across.
On a side note, telling an Atheist that they’re going to hell because it says so in the bible is not exactly effective if the person does not believe in the bible, nor hell. It just doesn’t mean anything to us, though I do respect your persistence.
‘Illegal’: GA High School Abandons 50 Years of Prayer After Atheists’ Threats

@Mudguy
Except that it’s not. Let me illustrate it for you:
Sponsorship of religion: State sanctioned prayer promoting a specific religion.
Neutral: Nothing sanctioned by the State promoting belief or nonbelief.
Sponsorship of Atheism: State sanctioned promotion of Atheism.
State sanctioned promotion of a personal religious belief is wrong either way, whether it promotes a religion or the absence of one.
Also, in general, Atheists are against the words “In God we trust” printed on money as well. A practice added to coinage in the 1864 and on paper currency in 1957.

There are about a million links to actual data, pictures, diagrams, and references on talkorigins… did you even click anything?
Google human chromosome 2, probably the most compelling single argument for evolution.
Honestly though, you have to be a troll. A cow into a frog? That itself would probably disprove evolution outright.

@DRPHIL69
You do know that we’ve known of a spherical Earth since like 700 bc, and was almost universally accepted by all Philosophers by 300 bc?
Of course Science is fallible, that’s kind of the point of the whole peer review and publication process.

Abiogenesis is a completely different field of science. As I plainly stated, Abiogenesis is the study of how life came to be, and Evolution is the study of how life adapts and progresses. Evolutionists don’t generally comment on the way life began because it’s not their field of study… this is not a hard concept.
Sproul…. really? A man who believes in a literal 6 day creation?

If you’re curious, http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/ is great for people with questions. If you have something specific, I’d love to answer it. In general though, the information is all over the web, and in any library, or, if you’re really confused about something, you can call any university biology department and ask questions. I’m sure they’d be happy to humor you all day.

@SQUIDVETOHIO
So essentially what you’re saying is that you don’t believe in evolution because the consequences of its reality would be inconvenient to you? That’s like not believing in gravity because if you do it means you might possibly fall to your death.
You’re right in saying that there is no OBJECTIVE moral code, but absolutely wrong in saying there are no logical arguments in a secular reality for morality and ethics. Of course there are, as they’re required for the continued existence of ourselves, and our species. Without societies dictating basic moral understandings (Don’t kill, don’t steal, don’t rape) society itself (order) wouldn’t exist. I would say that morality and ethics are utterly essential to the existence of society. Our elected representatives decide the general social moral standards with the power granted them by the populace.

Abiogenesis IS NOT Evolution. They are separate fields of study. We have vast amounts of observable, testable, verifiable evidence for Evolution (the study of how things evolve). We do not have vast amounts of observable, testable, verifiable evidence for Abiogenesis (The study of how life began on Earth)… yet. 100% of the time I see someone post in opposition to Evolution, they don’t understand Evolution.

I was in no way attacking Molly’s sentiment that religion can explain our origins (though I disagree), but her statement that it’s a waste of money to research the Higgs.
