‘Not a Drill’: After Royal Carribean Fire, Passenger Describes Scary Night in the Middle of the Ocean
May 28, 2013 at 8:27am
Boy, there’s a lot of folks here that seem really afraid to get out and live life every once in a while. Just like another poster said in this thread, THINGS HAPPEN sometimes. I’m sure that no one ever went from birth to death without experiencing some sort of hassle or major inconvenience while on vacation at least just one time. Different strokes for different folks though, and nothing wrong with that.
New Info Links Boston Bombing Suspect to Violent Drug Rip-Off Murders (Plus: More About the Fla. Man the FBI Killed)

PDW,
I agree. I was not there. But I do know that there is a lot to this story that is not being told and the fact that this guy was being interviewed and there were several agents present doesnt read very well to the fact that he reportedly tried to attack with a knife. Think for just a moment. Several agents present and they’ve been watching this guy for a while. They knew very well that he was an accomplished MMA fighter. The would have certainly been prepared for him to try something. I am not judging here- I’m using common sense.

No no no. This is ridiculous.
Do you REALLY expect me to believe that all the LE/Investigators were interviewing this guy and he had a KNIFE on him and was able to pose a threat? That is just not believable. This stinks to high heaven.
First, we have folks who HEARD “do not worry, there is a drill going on” before the marathon started. Then of course we have bombs and many hurt.
Second, these guys are on the loose and eventually get caught up in a police encounter which was so silly in how it happened. Were these two guys really that slack and stupid? (apparently)
Third, little brother is held up in a boat for hours and the TV shows massive amounts of gunfire exchanged with little brother, but yet then there is no gun found in the boat and the only real wound he has is a throat injury. Very little damage shown of the boat. Were the majority of these LE shooting dummy rounds, or just not hitting the boat?
Now, you’re telling me that someone connected to these guys had a knife while being interviewed. That’s one of the first things do is secure the situation to insure things like this doesnt happen.
Makes no sense.
‘Orwellian’: Proposed Gun Law in Washington State Calls on Police to Inspect the Homes of ‘Assault Weapon’ Owners

No, what this is IMHO is an attempt to make initial outrageous demands and then retract to give the appearance of a spirit of understanding and “give and take”. There is no way that the initial sponsor of this crap bill would not have been aware of the search clause written within.
Exposed: 5 Ways That Hotel Staff Get Back at Bad Tippers & Nasty Customers

Hi
Well, no- I don’t use this “attitude” with anyone. That’s the difference. See, I believe that if you do your job and do it well, then you will be rewarded if in an industry that’s well known for a tip. However, there’s a big difference between giving a 15%-20% tip to a server at a restaurant that is busting their **** to handle several tables at once and gives me very personal service for a period of time well exceeding two minutes! A person standing behind a counter at a hotel has never deserved at $20 bill at any point in time in my personal experience.

Since I was in Customer Service for 10 years myself, I can certainly understand having the pet peeves that this guy has. However, a “crisp $20 bill” for a guy that’s already being paid to sit/stand there and check me in? No, I don’t think so. That’s what’s wrong with so many entitlement folks. I’ve already paid for my stay. You will be paid by your employer. Why should I pay you even more for doing the same thing? Ridiculous.

What Does Your Food Say About Your Politics? These Two Charts Might Surprise You

I have to say that my choices are on the whole reflected by the graphs. Remember, these are not implying that if you like Sprite, you’re a commie loving social pushing progressive liberal. I like sprite, but I love Coke and I abhor Pepsi. This is just a trend, so dont let it make you feel you are not where you belong.
Nice study.

Yep. I agree. This is the ONLY way to beat the government at its own game. If there is a collective large enough. The issue that I see is 1) most folks like myself who truly believe in Stand Your Ground principle (at large, meaning both against personal and govt attacks) are peace-loving folks that will wait till it’s almost too late to actually do anything, because of #2) the fact that when the Constitution was written, I’m not quite so sure the founders realized how well-armed the government would be compared to the average citizen. Back then, we ALL had handguns and pitchforks. Now, it’s us stuck with handguns and pitchforks and the government has the upper hand with major military hardware. Not even sure if guerrilla tactics would be enough to keep group 3 ahead in the game. I hope and pray so.
