  • These coins were never released for circulation in 1933. They were stolen from the Mint, along with the coin the King had by a Mint supervisor. It was well known that he took them, and sold them to the Coin Shop owner. The Kings coin was traced back to the Coin Shop. Neither the Mint Supervisor or the Coin Shop owner were ever charged with the theft, because the Statute of Limitations had expired. The Kings coin was seized by the Secret Service after the Kings death when it was brought back into the States. However, the US Government lost in Court when it was proved they allowed the King to keep his coin. They did this because we need Egypt as an Allie during WWII. The location of these stolen coins was unknown until the family of the Coin Shop owner opened the Safety Deposit box & found them. They were never released to the public, they were & have always been stolen US Property, and therefore as taxpayers belong to each & everyone one of us!
