  Don’t give up so easily. The Capital Gains Tax needs to be much higher than what it is today. Lowering the rate was part of Bush’s Wealth Transfer Gift to the Rich. Reason: For the Filthy Rich, much of their Income comes from Capital Gains; and they need to be paying more – - much more. Might ask the Oracle from Omaha, what he thinks about the Capital Gains Tax.

  During the Golden Age of this Country – - the 30 years following WWII; the marginal Tax Rate was 91%; and there was not a lot of holler-in During that period, the Rich had a much stronger sense of commitment to the Public Good. I believe even up to the time of Reagan, the marginal Tax Rate was still as high as 70%.

  The Rich do not want to pay for Public Education, College Assistance, Health Care for all, Environmental Protections or clean up. Nor, do they care much for upgrading our Infrastructure. spending money on R & D, and assistance to the Poor. By Romney’s own admission, almost half of us don’t count. Yes . . . I am one of his Moochers; because I am receiving Social Security and Medicare. So, at my age, I guess you could place me in the, “Taker,” category.

  But those needy people – - the poor, their children, the unemployed, the sick, the injured Vets; our, “Taking,” Pales in Comparison to the Subsidies,Tax Cuts, and Earmarks, handed out to the Rich Elites.   When will the Kids on both sides, grow up and stop trying to create the News? The aftermath of the Romney Gaffe, certainly doesn’t deserve this kind of attention. It is a complete waste of time – - and seems very childish, to say the least. Both sides need to move on to something else: like Term Limits; Restrictions on Campaign Contributions; and, certainly the National Debt, and the Pending Sequestration.

  People, there are no jobs and there hasn’t been many since Bill Clinton left Office.

  In a July, 2010, story in BUSINESS WEEK, the Writer called the period from 1999 – 2009; “The Lost Job Decade.” Here’s why. During that period, the Private Sector created only 1.1 Million Jobs; and, even some of those can’t be attributed to the Private Sector, because, they were spin-offs, from the Public Sector that needed products or services which, they, themselves were unable to provide.

  A couple of other FACTS make this Job Creation Record – - Disgusting! 1. During this same period, the Corporate Welfare Pigs sucked a Trillion Dollars out of the Government Trough. (Corporate handouts and perks of all kinds, were running about $100 Billion a year.) 2. Also, during this SAME period, President Bush gave the Rich the largest Tax Cut in American History. In fairness to Bush, it appears he may have been, “dubbed,” much like we all are today. The Rich were supposed to create jobs and invest in America; but, neither happened! They just made out like, Bandits!

  Anyone who believes in Free Markets, probably believes in the Easter Bunny as well. Folks, we haven’t had Free Market Capitalism for over 35 years, and, maybe NEVER!

  Loose Regulations and the Repeal of Glass-Steigall, got us extremely high risk behavior on Wall Street; and, led to the Crash of 2008, which, some Economists of the Era are calling, “The Great Wall Street Heist.” More later.
