  Agreed. I was in my early 20s when serving. If i had to do it now there would be a lot of “spilled” drinks and “dropped” food.

  I was a (damn good) server and bartender I am going to answer everyone’s questions.
  1. Where groups of 2 or 3 may talk about the tip. Groups of 10-20 assume the other person tipped… so nobody tips however the sever still has to tip out 5-10% on that $200-300 bill.
  2. A group of 10-20 require a lot of help from other staff and take up all the servers tables.
  3. 5 table of 2-4 are all sat at different times and give the server catch up time between greeting, drinks, orders, food delivery, check up, and check out. Where as one large table everything is at once.
  4. The restaurant could give higher hourly wage but then all the servers would be crappy and the food, more expense. Plus good service should be rewarded and bad service not rewarded. Hello!!!!
  5. When serving there is a difference between being “in the weeds” (aka management gave me too many tables) and not caring about tables. Both should be brought up with management. Being in the weeds is managements fault. Not caring is the servers.

  Personally I do not agree with what the Pastor wrote and she said it was wrong and she has been humiliated for it. The server should have minded her own biz and not put another servers slip online. She got fired for it which sucks.

  Wait… what… I am confused. So if you take the $2400 penalty you still get the $20,000/yr insurance. That does not make any sense. Oh wait that’s cause I am applying common sense.
