  NY is really gone bad fast and if I could talk my husband into leaving I would not look back from here. Still working on it and almost won anyway our taxes are the worst on everything. Our weather sucks, we have almost 6 months of winter and sun, I wish. I grew up literally like Sarah Palin did but it was in the Adirondack area and I can’t believe how much it has changed and how our freedoms have been taken away. Opening day was a huge deal, everyone skipped school and went now you mention any or that and you get the look. I always love that look when people come to my house and see our deer heads lol. I really think if it weren’t for the hunting and awesome fishing here my husband would leave but I wouldn’t be surprised if that doesn’t turn like Europe. You wouldn’t believe it if I even tried to explain it how it is there. I guess they were right when I lived there 20+ years ago, it all comes to the U.S. it just takes 10 years or so.

  Gulfstream is hiring cabinet makers in Savannah also Boeing is bringing 2000 jobs to Charleston. Anyway I dream of leaving NY. and going South but haven’t talked the hubby into it yet still working on it. Upstate NY has a 12.7% unemployment rate, taxes are horrible, prices of everything are higher in ny, Gun laws are crazy. We have lost numerous businesses and manufacturing jobs here and don’t be surprised when Ithaca loses Remington. Cuomo says he has cut taxes lol mine went up 600 this year plus all our fees have gone up that is how they get away with saying they cut taxes.

  I am a catholic and I believe in the 2nd amendment and I shot my first buck at 16 one shot to heart and I could I would buy one of every gun and I won’t be afraid to use it if someone broke into my house and I want to get the heck out of NY and hopefully go to a gun friendly state and get a pistol permit and a pink one too

  that’s the problem you troll everyone has taken god out from banning him from schools, public, etc… These young adults have been coddled, all given trophies. They were taught to call 911 when they were spanked and yes there is a difference between being spanked and being beat. unfortunately another problem is both parents working who is watching and raising the kids. I wished we were back to the old days where faith family and freedom was everything. God help us all

  What a beautiful deer, anyway they have alot of these deer in upstate new york over in cayuga county in a old army depot. People leave them alone here because they say to kill one is bad luck. I am also sure this buck fathered alot of other ones due to his size and antlers, he has been around for a while

  Everyone should be prepared especially after what happened with hurricane Katrina. You can’t depend on government you need to be able to take care of your family and have a plan no matter what disaster comes. When Irene came it wiped out a place in upstate ny called scoharie and catsills and adirondacks, etc I know the government sent a bunch of trailors however they were never used because there foundations were declared unlivable and they sat in a guarded parking lot which the guards were paid very well and now they are auctioning them off but they can only be used for camps. What a huge waste of taxpayer money. Most walked away and most have for sale on them its still a big mess and roads closed etc… Google it people the you tube videos are unreal. These people never made the news its too rural they were like coney island. Tide, carhart, and a few other companies came right away but not the fema money and no one had flood insurance it was not considered a flood zone, they hadn’t had a flood in 500 years. 18 inches of rain came from Irene and down all the mountains there and Nickerson Park campground is one you want to youtube in gilboa NY where NYC gets there drinking water from but don’t want to help repair a old damn that could break and kill thousands, ya they did a head count in all towns and villages a few years ago because it was so bad. Upstate is like Virginia and NYC is like DC. Night and day

  scrudge not all of us new yorkers are blue us northerners are red and thank god we were spared yet always prepared but we will be real hurt here in taxes because we seem to all have to pay for that city one way or another. You are so right about Lockheed and I heard 30 day notice as of dec.15th right before Christmas too. NYS law is a 90 day notice. I also know of a soilder who is due to deploy in December for his 4th tour to Afganistan when he comes home he will have 18 years in and then 2 more to retire however when he returns he found out they are cutting him so he will be unable to optain his benefits to retire after serving and risking his life so we can be free. Our only hope is Mitt Romney and divine intervention from god to save us and I pray we can take our country back.

  ok then if your taking god out of the schools take my tax payer dollars and give it back to me so I can home school or send my children to private school, that is only fair and watch all the public schools close because everyone else but ******** will do the same and you can fill there kids with garbage. I am so sick of the war against god, children use to pray in school and disipline kids. Look how are kids are now turning out. NYS is ranked 38 amoung 50 states and we pay more per student for education than any other state like 20k per student. I really wish I could move from this place I see everyday how much things have changed for the worst, kids are pushed up into grades when they can’t even do the work in the grade there in just to make parents happy and graduation rates increasethen when they try to go to college or get a job they fail, no more medals and cookies for all,

  we have had gas in water in ny for years and we have no fracking going on. I have seen several places be able to light there water on fire. I am sure they can figure out how to separate it safely by now. I know people that have used the gas to heat there homes I Some people have more than one well and everytime they put in a new dug or drilled well they hit gas. Now public water has been put in and they have the best of both worlds. Its the enviroMENTALists that have freaked out people for there own benefits. We were going to have a wind farm but that was shot down because it will kill to many birds. They like to scare everyone just like the administration so they can have there way.
