    Amen.
Please pull the Mama extra close and hold her extra tight.

    Agreed!

If I hadn’t run out of room on my previous post, I would have added….
These children are not allowed to be “kids” anymore, have family time, and just be able to expel energy. Homework was a very rare occurance until 7th or 8th grade, and saved for what couldn’t be accomplished during the class time. I was lucky, and so were my 2 older children. The youngest 2 lost out, and my grandchildren, are losing out! Basics should be just that, not some of this garbage they are trying to cram into a school day.

I do not know why some people think we have to try to re-invent the wheel! “Once upon in time” in the “olden” days….Math was learned by memorizing the basic, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. No way around it!
We learned to read with phonics. You cannot memorize the identity and meaning of every word in our language! Spelling (you know that passe subject that makes written communication easier, even with spell check) was built upon weekly with the new words from our readers, and learning little formulas like “i before e, except after c, or when it sounds like a, as in neighbor and weigh.
    The list goes on…..
But, somethings were certain to occur most every week of the school year…every Monday you got the new math problems to memorize, the new spelling word list, and your assignments for what would be happening in all other classes, etc. On Wednesday, there was a pretest in Math and Spelling, and on Friday was the weekly tests. These took next to no time, and told the teacher and parents a lot about your ability to learn in a basic manner (memorization) Once a month, we had the big 100 word, 100 problem tests, and that showed if you were retaining/improving. Other subjects, like reading, social studies, geography, history, etc. would have Chapter tests. (oh, and the teacher actually used that time instead of needing a planning period or in service day)
Weekly tests should just be a part of the school week. Not like the SATs!

Harkin needs to be removed from office along with many others, a big red T placed on his shirt until the verdict is in.
I feel for you countrypatriot. A lot of NEbraskans felt the same way about Benny Boy NELSON! Perhaps we can hire a one way jet for the lot of them :-)

Just substitute/insert names/locations/occupatios and the following still fits!
“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgement to a depraved electrorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is. after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.” Vaclav Klaus former Premier of the Czech Republic.

Only when it is advantageous to the liberal progressive does an election/vote have consequences. Otherwise, they always demand a do-over, or will just bypass the electorate.
Liberals/progressives make me physically ill, and, no one more so than the union leadership!

Unless he was suspected of having rabies, I think it would have been more than possible for 2 rangers to get him to the ground to cuff him. The kick to the lower back when the HP pulled up, certainly seemed unnecessary.

And, having to show ID to vote is a no-no? The inmates are officially running the asylum!

Watt- You need to re-read Ben-F’s post !

Once upon a time, we accepted that Child Protective Services would step in and remove a child when a parent, who for religious reasons, opted not to go a traditional route with medical care. (as in diseases for which there was no certainty of being cured)
Now, we have a child who IS getting medical care for a diagnosed medical condition, and is taken away from her parents because SOMEONE decided she was being abused for being treated for POSSIBLY the wrong ailment? ARE THEY MENTAL? Those at BCH, DCF, and the court, involved with input to this case should all be loaded up and transported to the facility to which they want to move Justina. And, then let Justina and her parents decide what kind of treatment those people should get.
My understanding was that her previous treatment was at least letting her live a pretty normal, active life for a 15 year old. BCH seems to be doing the direct opposite.
And, this is why the first step (in my opening sentence) should never have been taken :-( It is NOT the place of a governmental body to decide those issues.

The entire administration needs replaced from the Supt of Schools, to Principals, to Teachers, et al. Then the parents need to be willing to oversee a classroom of kids for the remaider of the school year. You can do it….your children are worth it. There are all sorts of homeschooling help available to tide you through until you can put people in control of your district and schools that are worthy of you and your children. Do NOT make the mistake that these people are educated, and therefore know better than you. THEY DO NOT ! Between all of you parents are all the skills and knowledge needed to provide your children a good, solid, basic education!

If it has to be in the US, I vote Hawaii, since it is probably one of the most liberal states, and purported to be the one of his birth. However, I think Indonesia would be more fitting as that is where he received his primary education on how to hate America and go about destroying her!

I agree! And, then while they are at it, they can eliminate the two week vacation they all get paid to take. I am so tired of the redefining and hypocracy!

Why can’t you understand there is a difference between 1) freedom OF, and 2)freedom FROM!? People who are pushing for no mention of a word connected to religion, are, in essence, forcing their religion upon everyone else. You do not have the right to be free FROM religous words or items (buildings’ signs, music, displays, etc) any more than a Christian, Jew, Muslim etc. You only have the right to freedom OF your religion of choice, including athieism! Unless a governmental entity is demanding that you become a member of a specific church, or you will be fined, taxed, punished, ostracized, etc, you have no beef! Let me know, though, if things change to where you have to belong to a certain religious body, and I will be right with you in your opposition!

  • October 31, 2013 at 10:06am

FYI…God is not religion, Silent Night is not religion, the Golden Rule is not religion! And, right now, we are using states funds to “promote” athieism…a belief there is no God!

My husband and I watched the Man In The Moon last night, and were so impressed with it that we bought the DVD! Not only will we watch it again, but we will be able to share it with our family and friends who may not yet have it available.
Both of us love it, and we also enjoyed the “preparations”. Lots of talent.

Sorry I didn’t see your post before I replied. I agree with you.

Because these people all have the same agenda/belief/idealogy, it isn’t necessary to have direct orders given. It is rather like terrorist cells. They operate independently. It is no way to run OUR country, and we all had better be hoping that someone finds a just cause to get the leader on charges of treason. Benghazi surely falls in under “high crimes and misdemeanors”, doesn’t it? Can you really be this disengaged and uninformed, and be considered suitable for the job? I should think not upholding your oath of office would be enough.
