  DLV, one conversation with one priest (the context of which is hearsay) does not equal a divided Catholic Church. Sounds like a simple misunderstanding. We do not pray to/worship the saints, we ask them to pray for/intercede for us; like you would ask a friend/friends to pray for you.

  Chrinortay, “head” is probably the wrong word for me to use for Peter (“rock”), the first Pope of Christ’s universal (catholic) church. Of course Catholics believe that Christ Jesus is the head of the church, while the Pope is the church’s shepherd on earth, the successor of Peter; as Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood* has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church,* and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.* Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
