Famed Hollywood Movie Directors Issue Dire Warning About the Future of Film: ‘An Implosion or a Big Meltdown’
June 13, 2013 at 10:39am
No offense to you Mr. Spielberg, or Mr. Lucas, but… who cares!
A) With a 120″ screen and 9.2 surround sound at home, where the popcorn is better, where I can pause when I need to go to the bathroom, and with Amazon Prime, and Netflix giving me endless access to movies, I really don’t have the time or inclination to see what you are creating.
B) You are just being lazy. You want things to be how they used to be. Where your movies succeeded without any marketing work on your part. Rather than cry about the fact that I am unwilling to pay $50 to take my family to see your movie, because I can stay home and watch 100 movies (in a much more comfortable setting) for only $8 a month, why don’t you instead get off your butts, and get to work! Create some partnerships with Netflix and Amazon Prime. I know you are old, and just want to slide along on your earlier successes, but sometimes those gravy trains end. Sometimes you actually have to work as hard as you did when you were younger!
Frankly, I really don’t care. If you don’t want it badly enough, others do. I am not going to go see your movies in theaters, but movies made by others, will find their way to my home theater.
ie, the paradigm of theaters, and the brands that your represent, are far less important to me, than you seem to think they are.
Nice Work If You Can Get It: Ex-City Official Earned More Than $330K Last Year without Working a Single Day, Report Finds

fat chance. California will be bankrupt long before she dies. This woman will end up broke and eating cat food… A bitter old lady who will complain that she never got what she was owed…
Austerity or not, California has no hope of paying all of its bloated obligations.
You’ll Never Look at Ice the Same Way After Reading This Study

meh!
Everything is covered in bacteria. Most of it beneficial. I grew up on a farm. I played in piles of manure that were three feet deep. As an adult, I hardly ever get sick. You can withdraw from the world, and cower in terrified silliness, or you can accept that everything is covered with millions of germs, that 99% of them won’t make you sick, and keep living a full and happy life.
I for one will be drinking a nice tall 48 ounce Diet Coke, loaded with ice during lunch today.

Right back at you. No one is “offended.” Give me a break! The company is not in the wrong, for making a decision not to patronize a company that does not support them.
Staples have every right to define their own policies and positions. So do the rest of us. You don’t have to be “outraged” to decide not to shop somewhere that pushes absurd ideas. They can be foolish, but if they choose to act in such a silly manner, then I and others are equally free to not shop there.
Bad News for Social Conservatives? Annual Survey Finds Americans Moving Closer Toward Social Liberalism
May 29, 2013 at 10:49am
What is unfortunate is that social conservatism is just as critical to a sustainable republic as is fiscal conservatism. The loss of either will ultimately lead to the collapse of the empire.
Yet the disease that is socialism is rampant throughout our society. Look at FoxNews.com. You can’t even visit the website anymore without being faced with three or four very inappropriate pictures and news stories. They are still fiscally conservative, but socially, they have fallen quite a distance from where they aught to

Piers Morgan and Bill Nye Speculate on Climate Change’s Role in Deadly Okla. Twister
May 22, 2013 at 9:44am
it has really been sad to watch Bill Nye destroy his reputation by exchanging science for politics. The man has such a clear bias that no one takes him seriously anymore… about as seriously as people take Piers Morgan…
