Not really , unless I'm grossly misreading the article - all they've really done is remove the genes for a pancreas from the pig, then transplanted a human pancreas 'seed' into the pig. The pig grows and is still a pig, but grows a working human pancreas.
Doesn't sound like the pig is any different from other pigs other than the missing DNA - if it reproduced, the offspring wouldn't grow a human pancreas, for instance (or a pancreas at all).
Agreed Vickie. And Alablast, did you just type that and think that is not frightening in some way? The fact you typed the words is frightening enough. Even if it is ONLY that we can do something like that.
Maybe we have come too far. When you start creating yourself, it might be too far.
I actually think this is quite amazing. They’ve always wanted to “grow” genetically identical, organ transplants, but creating a clone of yourself just to kill that human life for a few body parts is extremely disgusting and immoral.
However, they have to take the genetic material for “whatever organ” directly from your own DNA code, so it’s not a “new” life. Then they cut out the embryonic, little piggy’s DNA strand for that organ and splice your DNA strand for that organ in there instead. That way when little piggy grows up, you can cut your replacement organ out of little piggy and have the rest of him for dinner. That definitely solves the “murdering humans for parts” dilemma. Now PETA might be seriously pissed off.
As long as they don’t try splicing the DNA for a human brain into a pig. If they did the reverse of that, we would end up with even more politicians that we don’t want to vote for President.

Amen. I pray for the complete healing for those involved. I beg His return.
