  • I. Scripture Alone Disproves “Scripture Alone”

Gen. to Rev. – Scripture never says that Scripture is the sole infallible authority for God’s Word. Scripture also mandates the use of tradition. This fact alone disproves sola Scriptura.

Matt. 28:19; Mark 16:15 – those that preached the Gospel to all creation but did not write the Gospel were not less obedient to Jesus, or their teachings less important.

Matt. 28:20 – “observe ALL I have commanded,” but, as we see in John 20:30; 21:25, not ALL Jesus taught is in Scripture. So there must be things outside of Scripture that we must observe. This disproves “Bible alone” theology.

Mark 16:15 – Jesus commands the apostles to “preach,” not write, and only three apostles wrote. The others who did not write were not less faithful to Jesus, because Jesus gave them no directive to write. There is no evidence in the Bible or elsewhere that Jesus intended the Bible to be sole authority of the Christian faith.

Luke 1:1-4 – Luke acknowledges that the faithful have already received the teachings of Christ, and is writing his Gospel only so that they “realize the certainty of the teachings you have received.” Luke writes to verify the oral tradition they already received.

John 20:30; 21:25 – Jesus did many other things not written in the Scriptures. These have been preserved through the oral apostolic tradition and they are equally a part of the Deposit of Faith.

Acts 8:30-31; Heb. 5:12 – these verses show that w

If you going to make a blanket comment about the history of Europe and the RCC, then I would also read the letters of the early church fathers as to what they believed(early 2nd century). Jesus, himself founded the church and The Catholics have done major spiritual good throughout the centuries for the salvation and welfare of mankind. The Bible comes from the Catholics, The Priesthood of The Jews prefigures the apostolic priesthood of the RCC. Why do people on earth expect that every Catholic is going to present themselves as a saint like example? Should a church have no sinners. If you were able to talk to the late Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, or Mother Theresa of Calcutta, they would straighten out your heretical thinking in a jiff.

Your comment is blasphemous and completely uncalled for. If you knew how loving that man is, you would be asking, no begging God for mercy for your comment. You do not care about truth. You cannot tell what is evil and what is good. You hide behind a moniker so you can slander anonymously with having to face any discomfort for your actions. It is in entirely obligatory that you make a public apology for your slander.

Your comment is blasphemy and calumny rolled into one. It is completely uncalled for and absolutely untrue. The Pope is The Vicar of Christ on earth, and is a most holy man. He cares more than you are able to understand for those who are suffering and those would include anyone with same sex attractions. He receives millions of prayers everyday including mine. While on earth, good and evil will always coexist and their are some that are trying to undermine his work. Catholic teaching happens to be completely true. May God have mercy on you for what you have said.

teaching the truth and has the authority to do it. Holy Tradition and Sacred Scripture are both necessary to understand the truth. You have a great misunderstanding of God’s love.
Use a little bit of reason. If you were taking a course in school, would a teacher give someone a book(tome) to read and tell them to come back at the end of the semester for the final exam? Would a all loving and merciful heavenly father leave it up to personal interpretation of the scriptures to have a complete understanding of Gods laws? Regarding The Blessed Mother, She was given to us by our Lord when He said to His beloved disciple John, “Behold Your Mother”. You have not studied Catholicism. You have no knowledge of The Saints or the catechism. How can you possibly make a valid comparison of what you currently believe and what the Catholic Church( who gave Christians the Bible) teaches? I can’t wait to hear this. This should be good.

  • @Savant
St. Paul as he is known by all true Christians says a few things in his letters. 1) Hold on to your traditions whether they are passed down by word of mouth or in writing. Whose traditions? The Holy Spirit of course. For if the traditions are of men, then that intrinsically defines Protestantism. 2)*The Church is the pillar and the foundation(bulwark) of the truth*. In this context this means ‘teaching authority’. It cannot refer to the individual or the building where people gather to worship. 3) The *first and only bible cannon* had 73 books and was translated from both Greek and Aramaic into the Latin vulgate circa 382 AD – 405 AD. The earliest use of the word Catholic is from Ignatius of Antioch circa 107-110 AD in his letter to the Smyrnaeans. You may be certain of this. There were no scriptures available for the average person for many centuries until the printing press was developed. The faith was traditionally and primarily passed on by word of mouth by the Catholic(word means universal) Church throughout the centuries. Jesus is The Word Incarnate who transfers His authority to men. The Jews had a priesthood. Through Moses(the high priest of Israel) he gave the Jews the Ten Commandments. The priests are given the same responsibility to preach faithfully what the Magisterium of The Catholic Church teaches. Nobody does drama like God. Good and evil can coexist in this life and *not invalidate* what is true. The One Catholic Holy And Apostolic church is

Are you asking me why only marriage between a man and a woman should be accepted by today’s society? I just want to make sure I understand better how to answer your question

  • @DallasGuy,

You won’t need the gun. You are in the process of committing spiritual suicide. You found a priest who does not obey the Catechism of the RCC. This is an abomination on many levels. You cannot justify this in any way shape or form by constitutional interpretation. I have the deepest respect for the priesthood that a Catholic could have, but this priest is being gravely disobedient on a number of different levels. Think about your eternity more carefully. If you die before making a valid confession, you will be lost forever.
