  • Unfortunately, many municipalities do not have the law enforcement resources to give out on a sustained basis. Maybe an alternate idea would be to have ‘school marshals’ who are funded out of both municipal and school funds. These marshals could be trained teachers, administrators, or other adults in the particular building and given a stipend for the extra duty. They could have, in addition to firearm training, martial arts training and training in the de-escalation of people in crisis similar to training in residential youth treatment facilities. It’s time to prevent our children from being targets and adults working with these children from being, out of necessity, meat shields for any person with any weapon that might want to harm them.

  • @BEAR…Before you start criticizing and calling people/things ‘stupid’ you might want to go watch the clip yourself. Matthews did say “dicking” not “dickering.” If you can’t tell, count the syllables. The word he said had 2 syllables not 3. Also, if it was dickering, I don’t think that Matthews would have apologized for it right away. Go slink away and stop showing everyone that YOU are the “stupid” one.

  • 1EPISTLE: Jesus was born and raised in the Jewish cultures, traditions and law. The Messianic idea was a Jewish construct and Jesus, as Messiah, is the completion of the Law of Moses and the OT Prophets. The Apostle Paul, who preached to the Gentiles, was trained in the OT Law and taught with that as an underpinning to the message of Jesus, who was the Christ (Messiah). While modern Jews do not recognize Jesus as their Messiah, excepting Messianic Jews, Christians recognize the OT Law and Scriptures as an integral part of the life of the Christian.

  • It seems like no matter who wins, we are in for some serious civil unrest, mostly in the cities. Thankfully, I live in a rural state and we shouldn’t have too much of it…at first. Of course, this is the state that brought the uni-bomber and freeman to you ….lol.

  • What? Really? Calibration issues? This is not the 1980′s and we are dealing with cutting edge technology. This should not be happening at all. They are making it sound like keeping the voting machines calibrated is some brand new technology. This is the ugliest election season I have seen in my time. In our state (rural), we had a report of people going around and seeking out absentee ballots and “helping” the voters by taking the ballots to the courthouse for them. I’m not sure which side except that my wife was one of the people that this young man came to ‘help’. He had a very worried look on his face when he saw me…and my 6’8″ 280 lb frame in the doorway. He said that he was just making sure she got it…hey, dude….what about me…I got mine or don’t you care about me? LOL It was quite humorous.

  • @Antitheist:
No matter what anyone’s religious views are, your comment here is in extremely poor taste considering the topic of the article and you are not helping your ‘position’ by making such statements.

  • There is early head start which takes infants and ages out at 3 y.o. At that time, they may be eligible to enter into head start which takes ages 3 thru 5. The 5 year olds are usually ones who are not old enough to make the kindergarten age cut in that particular school district. The busses we have here are all padded and have the 5-point belt systems. The special education pre-school busses also are similarly set up. I have children that ride both. Unfortunately, there are just some accidents that belts cannot save anyone from. My thoughts and prayers to the families.
