How much did it cost Senator Coburn to produce this book, which will do nothing to stop any of the waste? Enough with the talk and the investigation. How about some action? He does this every year. Waste of time, effort and money, or attempt to initiate change?

30andAngry, consider that all the things that you fear have already happened: Entitlements are declared rights, the Federal Government has been rolling over the states for years and have expanded their power way beyond the original intent. That is the exact reason why it’s important to use this process to restore the original intent of the Constitution. If there was another way, we would have used it by now. Because it takes 38 states to approve any amendment that is suggested, it’s very hard for it to become a runaway process. And each state retains the right to pull back during or after the process if their delegate doesn’t carry out the directives of the state legislature. The more the people get involved and remain educated the more likely that the process will succeed in restoring the rights of the states. Read “the Liberty Amendments” first chapter, which you can get online at Mark Levin’s website.

Constitutional Democracy?? This Harvard Constitutional Professor knows better so this was not a mistake but another attempt to re-write the truth. And yes, I did catch the insult. I don’t know why I watched him: he only makes me angry. The only light at the end of this very long dark tunnel of destruction is Mark Levin’s proposals in his book “The Liberty Amendments”. We can get back to a Constitutional Republic if we follow the directions given to us in Article V of the Constitution. Those of you who are furious with Obama and the government he has been building should be reading his book and getting aboard the Constitutional effort to change things. It’s the only positive answer I’ve ever seen.

It’s interesting to read so many people speak so definitely out of ignorance. “Should” they be allowed to marry needs to be answered in the context of why they are not allowed and that would require some historical research. I haven’t read all the responses here, but none of the ones I have read seem to have done any research into Church history. I can’t answer the question because I haven’t done the research so any answer is meaningless. I am Catholic, however, and my personal preference is that the tradition remain unchanged.

Another example of men becoming more attractive with age. :)

It’s possible here to be critical of O’Reilly’s style without supporting what the CAIR representative says. It would be enlightening to listen to his response to Bill’s rant and therefore draw our own conclusions. But with Bill shouting him down, as he does with so many of his “guests”, it’s too disturbing to listen to the interview. This is why I’ve stopped listening to O’Reilly, and to Hannity for that matter. If you are going to do an “interview” let the questions at least be answered. If his videos weren’t shown here occasionally, I’d never hear the man any more.

I’m happy to allow them their beliefs and practices if they would allow me mine. The more atheism is in the public square, the more legitimacy it gives Christian faiths to also be in the public square. Of course that’s just my opinion………..

Shorelineliz: The Catholic Church is full of sinners and I don’t think anyone would argue with that. However I don’t understand what you think that the Pope could have done, or what a future Pope could do, to “Purge” the Church? I’m curious about your thinking on this. I speak as a Catholic, but I can guarantee that every Church has its share of sinners. Aren’t churches designed to save sinners? What would be left if they purged them?

This guessing game goes on every time they have to elect a new Pope, and rarely does anyone guess correctly. The Cardinals don’t function in an American election- like atmosphere, and their priorities are very different (thank goodness). I trust and believe that they are being guided by the Holy Spirit and will pick the right person for the job. I think that Pope Benedict was a transitional Pope who was chosen to wait for the right man to be ready for the position. The world needs a very strong man to fight the evil that is rampant in many societies.

It’s interesting to me that the Pope inspires such vitriol and hatred. Theoretically, unless you’re a Catholic he really has no impact on your life. But the devil or Satan, or whatever you wish to call him is very much alive and active in today’s world. It is his energy and spirit which motivates so many people today and he is behind the anger exhibited in reaction to nothing more than the fact that the Pope is resigning. I encourage those who are not motivated by this hatred to avoid responding in kind to Satan. Let’s discourage him by a Godly example of love and forgiveness.

There is an important distinction to be made here which changes the meaning of the statement. The Pope is only infallible when speaking on matters of faith and morals within his role in the Church. He is not an infallible human being, nor does he claim to be.

I couldn’t watch this beyond the first 30 seconds. Those kids look like zombies: eyes, posture, lack of movement, staring at a monitor………… all the same. Robots. This is just WRONG in so many ways.

Can anyone tell me why Conservatives go on this program?

Seriously? Is this a comedy bit?

Like every other group, Catholics have free will. Some will vote their conscience and some don’t have an informed conscience. It seems to me that the fact that the vote is unpredictable speaks to the fact that Catholics are not “sheep” and can’t really be classified. It also implies that anyone who wants to generalize about Catholics as a whole will be wrong. (Substitute any other group’s name in the previous sentences)
That said, I am a Catholic who was born and raised as a Democrat and who began to think a little deeper in the days of Clinton and Lewinsky. I am now a registered Republican who supports Romney and Ryan, but who plans to take a hard look at the Republican establishment after this election is over. I suspect that I’m a closet Libertarian. But if Obama is re-elected it really won’t matter, because we’ll all be suffering under the same dictator.

That’s just good ol’ American ingenuity. Lots of people have forgotten that it exists, but this should remind them. :)

Well, if you tell them before the election it might do some good. If you wait until after, you have nothing to gain from it. good luck.
