  • Norm, the problem with his premise is not that they are “liberties which are bad”, it was as he further explained that the Constitution does not allow for what government can do on your behalf. This is a clear misunderstanding or disagreement with the founder’s intention of limited federal powers. They understood the nature of man and the dangers of a powerful centralized government, and specifically did not want the federal government to do anything on your behalf except safeguard your liberties by obeying the rule of law. If the citizenry was in favor of government doing more than that, the 10th Amendment was there so the states and the people could chose the path best for them. So yeah, I’m gonna whale on him for his interpretation, and his arrogance. His philosophy is rooted in Marx, not Madison.

  • Glenn, my thoughts are with you and your family on this very difficult day. People across the country and around the world are grieving with you. Good boy, Victor.

  • Hopefully this will never get hired as a bartender again. He ran his mouth and put his employer in a embarrassing position. Employers don’t like to be put in embarrassing positions by their employees. I would fire him and do my best to blackball him. He violated a trust and deserves the consequences his treachery has wrought. You’re a Mr. Prouty, and I hope the evil you have helped perpetrate haunts you til the end of your days. There may just be a lake of fire in your future…

  • Sen. Feinstein is the poster girl for federalism. I’m not from her state and could give a crap what some leftist from the left coast thinks. You want to live in a place like the People’s Republic of California, great. If you don’t, you live in a state that’s more in line with you interests and values. Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters don’t have a braincell between them and could come from another planet as far as their way of life and way of thinking. So I wouldn’t live in California. Unfortunately, they are trying to make the whole US into California.

  • That is one staggeringly stupid statement. Someone pays this woman to be a “strategist”? How do these marxist progressives keep “winning the arguement” with mental giants like this young lady and the likes of Rep. Pelosi, VP Biden, etc… These people are complete idiots yet manage to convince people they are not only not brainless but are some sort of saviors. Can millions of people be that brain-dead? Unfortunately, that was answered in the last election.

  • The message here seems to be very clear: Parents, don’t send your kids to school in Colorado. The hunting trip I was considering taking in Colorado (lots of elk there!) is hereby cancelled. I’ll find another state and spend my dollars elsewhere, there too many fools (and leftists) in Colorado.

  • This is a great humanitarian gesture. Clearly only an idiot would turn in their firearms for a concert ticket so this takes guns out of the hands of idiots who give them of their own free will. Since they are as likely to accidentally shoot themselves as anyone else, I’d say it’s a win-win for all.

  • Sen. Paul, this one makes no sense. None. There was no pressure, most of your party voted against him. You say the President has “leeway”, then why even have a vote? He wilted in the hearings, does that strike confidence in you that he’ll handle the stress of his duties well? You said you had a lot of unanswered question, but apparently that didn’t matter.

Those are just a few of the high points but the bottom line is you looked at this guy and said he was ok when most of the people you are supposed to represent do not think he is ok at all. And on top of it all, you hurt yourself here. Very badly. So Senator, I don’t know what kind of convoluted logic you used to arrive at your conclusion but defend this decision at your political peril.

  • Jrook and Myptofvu, I doubt if either of you would have the guts to ask that young lady that question if she was standing in front of you, as you would asking any victim of a violent crime who said they wished they’d had a gun to give themselves at least a chance to save themselves. Pray you won’t ever be in the same position one day, and perhaps rethink your condescending, elitist, and indoctrinated attitudes. And while you are at it, ponder tha arrogance of telling another human what you feel is ok or not ok to defend themselves with.

  • SE, we are not irrational or herd-like so we are constantly calling out the so “party heavyweights”; I don’t even know what or who you are talking about. If you are referring to the likes of Rush, Glenn, Mark, Sean, etc, they are generally the only ones looking at things from a constitutional point of view thus don’t need much calling out.

Obviously if you were referring to politicians like Speaker Boehner, Senators Graham or McCain, then absolutely, call these RINOS what they are. And we do. Our radio friends on the other hand usually represent our feelings and sensibilities, so we aren’t (and have no need) defending them, they are defending us.

I find your premise fundamentally incorrect and your use of Rush in making your point unfair and unjust to him, and damaging to your credibility.
