  I remember the training. You protected that reserve chute handle all the time. If someones reserve popped out, we were supposed to get it secured right quick. An accidental deployment out the side of the airplane would tear you up. I still get butterflies watching guys jump. I had 27 jumps in the three years I was in. You don’t really get used to it. It was never the actual jump, just the landings that stunk. I understand a reserve landing really stinks! All the way sir!

  Man…I would be in so much trouble if I were a kid today. We always used to make drano b*mbs in 2 liter bottles. It was all for fun and never hurt anyone. They are really loud. For that matter we did lots of stuff you can’t do today…like walk around the neighborhood armed with BB guns looking for fun things to shoot. Nobody ever cared either because we never were destructive…at least not always.
