MSNBC Anchor’s ‘Easy’ Solution to Ending Poverty: ‘Giving People Money’

Well, they’re free to give as much of their own money as they like.
But it’s easy to be charitable with money that isn’t yours.
Glenn Beck’s Withering Response to the IRS Admitting It Targeted the 9/12 Project, Conservative Groups

Not to mention the chilling effect the IRS had on potential donors. When the IRS illegally demands donor lists, it sends a message. “Donate to this cause and you might get an audit.” That has to deter some potential donors. Wonder how much each of these organizations lost? How much did these organizations spend on legal fees responding to these illegal demands? Will the IRS reimburse these organizations for all the costs involved? Tying up organizations in IRS red tape kept them on the sidelines. They had to play footsie with the IRS instead of doing what they were chartered to do. Imagine the cry had the same demands been made of Planned Parenthood or the NAACP.
The Controversial Issue That Has TheBlaze’s S.E. Cupp Standing With President Obama

I SERIOUSLY doubt Obama would veto the bill. I think he’d just LOVE to give Holder access to every e-mail, tweet, facebook post, etc.

Way to look “Presidential” there. He showed more indignation at this monstrosity of a bill being defeated than he did when the Embassy was attacked and the soldiers and Ambassador were murdered in Benghazi.

That’s the problems. Lo-fo voters. Those that don’t look beyond the sound bite. And those who have NO grasp of economics or history whatsoever. Remember that old saying about those who do not learn the lessons of history.

Graham and McCain need to be out of the Senate. They represent DC, NOT the people of their states. They’re like a couple of Esaus. Sold themselves for a meal.

I couldn’t disagree more with SE on “gay marriage” being a “conservative” (or even Libertarian) idea. The institution of marriage has had, for longer than the US was in existence, a specific meaning. It has never been a union of gay/homosexual couples. When gays claim they want to ‘marry’, there is nothing to prohibit them from entering into a marriage (as traditionally defined) other than their lack of desire to do so. A gay couple wanting to enter into a marriage is to ask that “marriage” be redefined. A gay couple saying they want to enter into “marriage” is akin to walking into a basketball game and asking to play basketball, but with rules for baseball.
Also, to say that government needs to “grant them the right of marriage” is to presuppose that government owns the right and is the one to “grant” us rights. The institution of marriage predates the founding of the US. Society holds marriage, it is NOT a government institution. Government cannot ‘grant’ rights. We the people have rights. The government can constrict those rights via use of force of law and police powers.
The Libertarian (or large “C” conservative) would solve this by getting the government out of the marriage institution. Once “gay marriage” comes about, the first pastor that refuses to perform one due to his beliefs will find himself the target of a big lawsuit. Then almost all will cease performing marriages.
