Faith-Healing Parents Charged With Murder for Refusing Kids’ Medical Care — Should They Go to Prison?
May 24, 2013 at 7:42pm
Personally, I would get medical attention only if I had to. I would take my kids if it was absolutely the last thing to do after I tried everything else. The medical establishment is not all it’s cracked up to be either. One study I saw (in a medical journal) estimated over 500,000 people a year die from medical mistakes. Half of those are from unanticipated drug reactions. Doctors are not miracle workers, and frequently cause more problems than they solve. If I really, really have to go to a doctor, or take a kid to one, I watch them like a hawk and ask all sorts of questions. I do not just take their direction as if they were Jesus in the flesh. Just because those parents didn’t take their kids to the doctor doesn’t mean they are wrong. Doctors kill people all the time, so it’s not automatic that they would’ve done any better.

Historical fact: Democrats founded the KKK to kill Republicans, especially black Republicans. Democrats are racists with their Planned ParentHOOD eugenics (over 30% of their baby-killing is black babies, national population of blacks 12%) their historic resistance to passing civil rights legislation, their gun control fever which is really about disarming people so they can have total power, their racist attitudes which drives welfare, etc., etc., etc. The Democrats are the party of hate and hoods.

America’s Most ‘Megachurch-Oriented’ City Might Surprise You

Just a reminder, Deavon. The church is not the Body. Not a single one of the modern ‘churches’ is mentioned in the Bible. They are more like country clubs than representatives of the Body of Christ. We can be believers without attending. Just take in His Words and do them, meaning the opposite of hypocrisy.
I’ve had similar experiences with church and music teams. I play drums and guitar, and your description resonated with me. Some of the most ungodly behavior is exhibited by the people in front looking the most holy. Just don’t let them turn you off to God and His Word. He’s not the hypocrite.
I thought this research was hilarious. It is obvious to me that the bigger the group the less “Bible minded” they are. They have to be. Truth is not comfortable, so they have to water it down to get big. I crack up whenever they are looking around for the Beast or the woman riding the Beast and look everywhere but the mirror.

FSM_47 – Not true. They teach Chuck Smithism. Anyone who steps outside of that and actually teaches the Bible loses their dove.

Deavon – I agree with you that “God’s gracious love isn’t really what I (you) see when reading the bible (OT).” That would be because you are reading through your heart; so you can’t see. Which kind of begs the question, that if you can’t see, why are you trying to lead others? Yes, God is a being with ultimate power, and also ultimate love, ultimate grace, and is ultimately the source of life. He has no problem dishing out any of those things, should the need arise. Passages in the Bible will tell us whether someone is acting on God’s orders – his behavior is consistent with what God commands. Many false prophets claim to speak for Him, and there are easy ways to tell falseness. His Law is the believer’s guide. You say you were a Christian and could not find “proof” for what you believed. That, again, was because you couldn’t find it, not that it wasn’t there. I step outside my door and I see evidence of Him all around in creation. Atheists want me to trade the source of light, light and love for – nothing. They want to tear down the Bible, filled with many examples of His love for us, in exchange for, um, what, You as a god? That’s not just the least little bit like Satan’s plea in the Garden? The plea that got us into this mess? You say there is no God, but that would mean you were all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-present. Because wherever you weren’t, He could be there. There is no harm in following my Bible. I love Him and do what He says because He love

The “bad” parts of the Bible are all from men, not from God. God specifically tells us not to practice ways that lead to death. Yes, there are some parts where God commands His army to wipe out certain groups of people. Not a big deal, since those people descended into such anti-God (atheist) behavior that even dirt was disgusted. Canaanites were depraved like few others.
24‘Do not defile yourselves by any of these things; for by all these the nations which I am casting out before you have become defiled. 25‘For the land has become defiled, therefore I have brought its punishment upon it, so the land has spewed out its inhabitants. 26‘But as for you, you are to keep My statutes and My judgments and shall not do any of these abominations, neither the native, nor the alien who sojourns among you 27(for the men of the land who have been before you have done all these abominations, and the land has become defiled); 28so that the land will not spew you out, should you defile it, as it has spewed out the nation which has been before you. (Leviticus 18:24-28 NASB95. See also Lev. 20:22-23).
You can make any case you want from a selective use of the Bible, just like you can make any word you want from an alphabet. But the whole of the Bible shows us man’s depravity and God’s gracious love, extended to keep us from permanent death. It’s true, man has done wickedly. Some of that is recorded to remind us what we are and where we should go. His living oracles are the wa

Archie – My point still stands – evolution is not observable in the lab, therefore not science. Creation is observable in the lab, therefore is scientific. Evolution merely begs the question. A few of the lies in evolution: 1) The geologic column is nowhere to be found on earth except in the dreams of evolutionists. 2) There are no transitional fossils. None. Anywhere. Given the variety of life there should be thousands. 3) Dating methods assume linear degradation of isotopes, and need a start point (i.e. “Where did you find it in the geologic column?”). Living mollusk shells are dated at 2300 years. Living snails to 27,000 years. Samples of known age, radiometric dating doesn’t work. Samples of unknown age, it is assumed to work. C14 has not reached equilibrium yet, proving a young earth. 4) If there were a big bang, matter should be evenly distributed and is not. 5) The conservation of angular momentum states that anything breaking off of a spinning object will continue to spin in the same direction as the parent object. We have two planets and six moons in this solar system alone that are spinning opposite of the others. 6) Life could not evolve in oxygen (it oxidizes or burns) yet we cannot live without it. Selenium is a poison, but we cannot live without a small amount. 7) The “common ancestor” you posit would not only have to evolve a monkey and a human, each would have to find someone to have kids with and something to eat. Mathematically impossible.

Zappa – To decide right and wrong, I refer to the Bible. What’s so bad about not stealing? Why not take a day off once a week? So why do so many attack it? I submit it’s for one reason – they do not want the rule of God. They want to call the shots, and they don’t like it that Someone is around with veto power. I did not say evolution was wrong (although I could’ve), I said it was bankrupt, without good or science, racist, hateful, and a system of lies created for the sole purpose of creating doubt and mistrust in God’s Word. Now, I would say that the net result would be “wrong,” too. I judge evolution on its own merits, by what it is and what it produces. God’s Word produces good. Evolution produces the opposite.
Some scholars/lay people/priests or whoever believe it because they have bought the lies. Some aren’t believers in the first place; only country club members. A believer is known by his or her actions. Denying the absolute truth of the Word of God would be an indication that perhaps they are more wolf than lamb. I don’t reject the people, I reject the lies they believe.
Evolution evolves because it is completely false. People who reject God have to make it evolve because it has been proven to be without basis in science and logic in almost every way. I do not reject the science behind it because there is no science. It is a religion of hate, created by hate, fostered by hate, and with no redeeming value whatsoever.

Zapparules – The Crusades were obviously not from God. Just because somebody wraps themselves in the Bible or terms like God does not mean He approves. As far as something or somebody being good without God, of course it’s possible for there to be some good without giving the glory to God. Happens all the time. But if He hadn’t created, or hadn’t created everything ‘good,’ then those people and things wouldn’t be here. My point is that evolution does not produce anything good. God is the source of all good.
