  • I don’t think we fully understand his view. I think he is not against capitalism in general, I think he is condemning the greed that can result from capitalism. He doesn’t believe in the rich corrupting government, We all know we have a corrupt government; that cannot be denied.

It would really be interesting to ask him what form of government he does believe in. I think we may all be surprised at how similar his views would be to the true ideals of the Tea Party.

  • You know, you’re right. If I moved to a different country either permanently or temporarily, I would expect I would be fine with learning such materials. They have moved here. They have committed to be here, why are ythey requiring US citizens to recite the Mexican pledge? If this were just an exorcise in reciting the pledge, why would they have the student make the solute while reciting it. Sure, show the solute, but requiring them to do it during the recitation. Something is definitely wrong here.

It‘s time to stand up to the school districts and tell them it’s wrong. Time for parents to review the curriculum being taught to their children. Get involved.

  • Wow!, are you naive. You must still think this is all spontaneous, even though there are Soros’ fingerprints all over it.

  • Old article. Don‘t know if I’ll get a response.

Soros’ groups hate this movie producer, I’d guess, because they teach family values. Gasp, heaven forbid we would have men holding onto their family against the influences of conspiring men.

  • I do not think it’s wrong for the police to warn them. but the comment of “Don’t you think your shorts are a little short?’” or “that they were showing a lot of skin.” are not the best way for a public servant to warn people. Such comments imply judgement on the part of the officer. People don’t like to be judged. A simple comment that there is a rapist in the area that is targeting women wearing short skirts would be more appropriate and would be less likely to elicit objections from the public.

To imply the police are not doing their job by warning citizen rather than rather than getting the rapist off the off the streets is atrocious. Their job is to PROTECT the public, this includes many forms of prevention. I see this as the police trying to help protect people. Let’s use a little common sense here.

  • Yo, Obama.

Pull the taxes on those who create the jobs in the private sector and watch the economy take care of itself. Pull the taxes and lift the regulations choking the life out of small businesses and the jobs will come.

  • @bikerr

    Read and count again: 1, “1st child” + 5, “my other 5 children = 6.

  • You can never make it impossible to possess a gun, there are just to many of them out there; which is the way it should be. If you want to prevent crime, have more guns and those trained to use them. Would those 8 people have been killed if several of the party attendees had had guns. Or better yet, if the perpetrator had known there were other guns present beside his own.

Makes sense to me that he may have actually chosen not to go to disrupt the party. Don’t you?

  • I worked for America West Airlines years ago when the Teamsters were voted in to represent us. With leadership such as Hoffa, is it any wonder I left America West as fast as I could find another job? The entitlement and us against them attitudes of the aircraft maintenance personnel were starting to develop and I didn’t like what it was doing to my coworkers. I was starting to get caught up in it a little myself; I had to get out of there. I didn’t like what I was becoming.

As I was growing up I saw how the Steel Worker‘s Union effected my father’s attitudes for a time. He was in an industry and state where he didn’t have to join the union. He really didn’t want to at first, but realized, for his own safety from union member reprisals, he had too.

The steel plant is now closed due to the high cost of union labor and government legislation requirements. I recently had a short conversation with old steel worker that overheard me talking about how I felt about unions and how they hold too much power. He vehemently interrupted my conversation with his opinion that the steel workers union allowed him to make more money and protected his rights as a laborer. I didn’t want to be confrontational with him and his disruption caught me off guard so we parted ways with no further discussion.

But later, I realized that I could have made comment that his beloved union took an active part in US Steel closing the plant that kept him and my father so well employed.

  • Let me share with you the story of a very stupid father who smartened up fast.

When I was a young 29-year-old father, I was going to the store with my first child in her baby carrier in the back seat. While traveling, she fell asleep and was very silent for most of the trip. I had been working a graveyard shift the night before and was thinking about my dear wife, and the problems she was recently having with her arthritis that made her bed ridden. I went into the store and made the purchase. As I returned to the car, to my horror, I saw my daughter still strapped in her child seat in the back seat; I had completely forgotten she was there.

At the time we were living in the Phoenix, AZ area, where children die every year from being left in cars in the summer heat. I was was fortunate, It was a pleasant winter morning and I had parked in the shade of the store. My daughter was still asleep and hadn’t even noticed I was gone. To my great joy she was safe.

This experience scared me straight. I never made this mistake again, with her or with any of my other 5 children. It also gave me a more understanding heart for those who have lost their children in such a tragic manner. The guilt must be horrendous for someone who makes a mistake that ends such an innocent young life. If it had been a hot summer afternoon that day, I might have lost her. My wife and I would have lived in grief the rest of our lives.

I thank God for blessing me that day.
