  • I lived in Lancaster from 1971-1976 & again from 1990-2006. It has always been a bad environment and a magnet for people who cannot afford to live elsewhere in California…..that is, without a Los Angeles priced assistance check. They get the higher $ for the city, then move to the cheap-rent district. There used to be an ‘elite’ area, Quartz Hill, but that changed in the late 80′s with the 1st real estate boom. The city council advertised country-wide to draw in employers, giving them tax incentives, but then they couldn’t find workers with enough skills or education to fill those jobs so they brought in their own workers from elsewhere. Now that many companies have folded when people lost their homes and went back to their origins, there are ghost town subdivisions and empty storefronts everywhere. Crime is rampant with gangs and as stated above, whites are the minority nowadays. My father has had several property crimes occur and when the police finally come to write a report — that’s it. Their advice? MOVE! I would like to know HOW this city can afford this new toy for their officers comfort. I respect most police but in this city, many are there to avoid work, they have no intention of actually doing anything to change things. Maybe they are resigned to the fact that the meth addicts will never change or the gangs will always prevail, or the desert just has a bad effect on people, but I have never found anything good to come out of Lancaster. This is BAD

  • Excellent response–if we all did that instead of appearing PC by doing nothing, maybe the atheists would realize they are a fraction of a minority and stop fighting a losing battle. And why should the majority bow to the minority just to seem ‘tolerant and supportive of diversity’ when salvation is the most important event in a person’s life? After all, the determination of where one spends eternity cannot be trumped……Christians should stand up and fight to defend their right to get the message out that Jesus is the one true way to the Father. We’ll never know how many might miss their own salvation because there are no longer Christmas displays showing the true message of Christmas. If we cannot bring up the subject during the celebration season of Jesus’ birthday, WHEN can we?

  • If there was no intent to mimic the twin towers, and they just wanted to have ‘clouds’, why do the buildings not have a different shape at least? There are a gazillion different looks they could have gone with, other than 2 straight vertical square columns…in fact most modern high-rise buildings now have curving shapes, so somebody needs to just fess up.

  • Replying to all of you who say you cannot vote for Ron Paul: You are entitled to your opinion, but don’t kid yourself into thinking you have made that decision based on the Constitution…you have most obviously not. You have bought into the lie that it is OK for our government to overstep their boundaries if justified by the correct explanations. Let me tell you, there is NO JUSTIFICATION for illegal actions done by those who have pledged to defend our Constitution. If you no longer believe in the Constitution, please move to a different country, as there are too many people like you who are ruining this one for the rest of us who uphold the Founders creation. Whether you are simply ignorant or just dishonest about what you claim to believe, you have no business voting for any candidate who will continue the stance of trampling our Supreme Law–only Ron Paul gets it’s meaning and has the record of supporting it fully. The truth is out there if you are honest enough to look at it.

  • Unfortunately we have given up our property rights in this country. If you are under a local zoning law, you must abide by the rules or change them. Otherwise move to an unincorporated area where you have only the county laws to go by. Soon there will be no personal freedom if we allow Agenda 21 and it’s “sustainability theories” to continue to be implemented. A bill has already passed the house, and could be passed in the senate at any time, which would also control our water–what you can do on it, in it, around it, and even in the air space above it….including lakes, rivers, coastlines, etc. We must wake up everyone we know! http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/7870-agenda-21-and-the-movement-toward-a-one-world-govt

  • to STUCK-IN-CA: They don’t have to believe in Jesus as their savior, they are Jews! Some do, but remember, Jesus is a Jew also. Let’s say you are the heir of the richest man in the world, you will automatically get your inheritance. And say there is so much money that the will allows others to get some too, but only if they qualify according to the will. Now, if you are the heir, why would you bother to meet any other criteria? That’s how I see it anyway.

  • so IF the owner thought his girlfriend pushed the boy down the stairs, and punished her by hanging her from the balcony, will he say she felt guilty & committed suicide (but tied her own hands to implicate HIM for it?) very, very strange….and if the brother had done it and then ‘found’ her, he would have untied her hands first so suicide would be more believable…. where is Columbo when you need him?

  • Yes the murder of Caylee is horrendous…but WHY are we so upset over ONE child, when THOUSANDS are murdered each and every year in America, where they should be the safest of all places….in their MOTHER’S WOMB!!! When will we admit abortion kills a life? Choice is only BEFORE conception.

  • Ever Wanted to See Michelle Obama Dance…to Hip-Hop?

    In reply to jzs.

It is not the fact that she is promoting exercise, it is the WAY she is doing it–lowering herself to what is risque albeit popular. I just think our leaders should set an example, not endorse the hip-hop lifestyle.

  • She looked self conscious, like she was wondering how much she should let herself get into the groove. If she stood still she’d look stiff, if she did her best she’d get too much attention, so she sort of half-heartedly participated and looked like she had no rhythm. She should not have been there to begin with, and she would have avoided that dilemma. Could you ever imagine a Queen giving a performance like that? Unfortunately, decorum has left the White House with this couple occupying it. Shows how much our expectations have fallen for there to be those who condone (and even embrace) this behavior. In my opinion, leaders should hold themselves to a higher standard. Just because a particular music and dance is popular, does not make it acceptable behavior for our royals.
