  • The answers to the above questions were all on Fox News, so what is this survey supposed to show?

  • So let’s get this straight, Zimmerman is the one with the broken nose, black eyes, bloody head, and painful back, and Martin is the one with sore knuckles, and the witnesses can’t tell who was on top or calling for help? Okay…

  • Gives a whole other meaning to the term “baby food”.

  • Laws against owning guns only stop good people from being able to protect themselves. If bad people want guns, they get guns. And besides, what is someone convicted of attempted murder and selling drugs doing out on the street? Violent crime is much higher in areas where good people can’t get guns and low where everyone carries them. This is not a coincidence..

  • The Tea Party is alive and well and going global. We do not have a media presence because there is no national event like the healthcare bill to hold rallies around, or a presidential candidate who embraces us or we him. Tea Partiers are focusing on Senate and Congressional races. In New York, that would be Wendy Long for Senate. If you haven’t heard of her, look her up. You have heard of the others, Ted Cruz, Richard Mourdock, Josh Mandel, etc. Once we have our Republican nominee, we must make sure as many Tea Party cnadidates as possible make it to the Congress in order to make our next president keeps to the limited government line. And, oh yeah, we’ll be there in force to beat Obama. Keep the faith.. .

  • My pick would be Mitch Daniels because of his fiscal expertise and success in Indiana. He would play very well in the midwest swing states and he has serious rhetorical skills as evidenced by his reply to Obama’s State of the Union Address. I would not pick Condi Rice. Rice is a member of the State Department establishment who guided Bush away from the aggressive policy in Iraq to push towards Iran, to the quagmire we’re in today. In 2003 Iran was making noises of retreating from its nuclear program when they feared America’s military intervention. If you need a reminder, a Federal Judge just ruled that Iran with Hezbollah was responsible for the 9/11 attack. Condi Rice was instrumental in turning Bush away from a successful policy that would have allowed America to stabilize the region. She naturally was not the one who led Bush on this path, but she was the instrument. From what I heard on Daniels on foreign policy, he sounded wishy washy. But Romney sounds strong and John Bolton endorses Romney.

  • Paul Ryan for VP? Romney should think about it

    In reply to BetterNTexas.

I believe you’re right. I would leave Ryan where he is and I suggest Mitch Daniels. He has fiscal expertise, and if you saw his reply to Obama’s State of the Union address, he has serious rhetorical skills. His family objections to running might be overcome because his campaign would be for two months and Romney would be the major focus.

  • Glenn is not going to spin this. He will admit this was one step too far. I’m sure this is something that Santorum will walk back. It was something he said in the heat of a contest and he’s flailing. Freedomworks is ok with Romney, DeMint is ok with Romney, Bolton endorsed Romney, the Senate races are looking real good for conservatives so the House races must be going well. The way a conservative has to look at it, is that Romney worked well with a strongly liberal legislature in MA., so hopefully he will work well as President with a strongly conservative legislature who will set the policy. Not a ringing endorsement, but a preference over Obama, and Demint‘s and Bolton’s assurances makes me hopeful. I ask that people not be too harsh on Santorum. He’s a good and decent man of principle, but when he needed to rise to the occasion, he fell short. He was incapable of wearing his social values lightly, and sticking to the important issues. Culture wars are not won in political campaigns or by politicians, but must be fought by the people from the ground up. He was incapable of distinguishing what a President does, which for us is to execute policies based on the principle of limited government, from what a CEO does, which is to use his resources to make a profit. Santorum should be proud of his effort of running an honorable campaign, and we should overlook his mistakes. .

  • Its addition by subtraction. The GOP will gain seats in the Senate. Just not in the Northeast.

  • It seems the entire Northeast is devoid of conservatives. My guess why Olympia Snowe quit is that she could not bring herself to go along with the growing conservative contingent in her party. Remember, her committee vote got the health care bill on the floor with“bipartisan” support. Anybody who is fiscally responsible could not in anyway help this bill to pass. From her remarks, she seems to regard the Senate as a social club, rather than a legislative body where she is supposed to uphold and defend the Constitution for the sake of the people.
Orin Hatch, who would be the Judiciary Committee chairman if reelected, is facing a tough Tea Party challenger in Utah. He is a big spender, big government Republican, although he would do well in the nomination process for judges and Supreme Court justices. Some conservatives, including Mark Levin support Hatch’s reelection because if he loses, Olympia Snowe would become Chairman. My feeling is, that isn’t reason enough to support a big spending Rino. Mike Lee, a constitutional lawyer would be an excellent member of the Judiciary Committee, and with a strong 2012 showing with candidates such as Ted Cruz, Richard Mourdock, Clark Durant and Sarah Steelman, Snowe may have had problems getting the Chairmanship, and if she did, would have to deal with conservative members of her committee going against her. I think that may be why she is quitting. INow is not the time to fear the replacement of a RINO.
