  • I have taken dried corn (2 ears), husked, cracked, & cooked it into 8 meals. It expands amazingly. Now the nutrition content per serving is a less than the 1/4 ear of corn from whence it came, but it is filling. WHO is attempting a virtually impossible task of feeding most of a continent on leftovers. The bio-engineered wheat seems even worse. Those distended bellies signify malnutrition. The hollow eyes signify starvation. We see the former in otherwise healthy American children due to our junk-riven diets. Meat does not make one fat. Over-eating food, plus the combination of man-made chemicals make Americans fat. We have both the land and the resources to produce meat. Because of war & politics, other countries & continents are not capable of doing this. But if Americans can be convinced, then the excess grains not needed for cattle could go to 3rd world nations. Ingenious plan.

  • May every person; regardless of political or religious leaning,
have a most BLESSED OF CHRISTMASES AND THE HAPPIEST OF NEW YEARS!
Not just 99% of you, but ALL of you.
And the folks in this story? Including them, too.

  • Does This Design of Two Towers Remind You of Anything?

<<<— Uber conservative chick here. Love the discussions on The Blaze, but for the second time this fall, find myself apparently out of sync with the regulars. This design type has been in the making for decades. I lived in a part of North Dallas that had some Asian design firms come over to study the soil shift properties in the late '80's. I got to know some of the guys, and saw concepts like this they were working on at the time. Their engineering was solid on a light scale, but they were in a quandary about the materials that would be supple enough to withstand a quake, yet strong enough to hold the counter-weight for ages to come. They also were looking at footer and weight bearing models in shifting substrate. That is why the two towers, by the way – they share the weight and relieve the load for each other.

I remember 9-11 and honour all that died there, helped there, and watched helplessly as needless death and destruction rained down. But this has nothing to do with 9-11 and has been in the works for a very long time. Personally, I liked the idea then, and I like it now.

Building structures have changed since the 1400's if anyone has noticed. We have had many types of construction styles and will have many more to come if we can survive ourselves. Commercial construction and design are moving more towards the organic. This is not the most futuristic organic building I have seen come out of the design halls. Get a grip, folks. Not everything is about us.

  • That is a very good question. In fact; instead of posting here, maybe we should all take our conversation over to Amnesty International’s website…..

  • @GWH: In the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican calls the shots, but they are not the authority over other Catholics.
@Notfooled: Please study some more. There were 12 deciples sent out, plus numerous pairs, to spread the word of God after Christ’s ascention. Thomas ended up in and around India. One can still see his handiwork today. Mark went to Egypt & Ethopia. Those Christian communities are thriving today. And the reformation occurred not because man desired to usurp the will of God, but because man desired to read the Bible for himself, not be taxed to povertry by the Church, and have a direct relationship with God without the requirement of church intervention.
I support the Chinese people, but can not see where the government controlling the church could ever lead to God’s work. Looks more like a fearful government attempting to put God in a box. Can’t wait to watch His will prevail. :-)

  • Obama Executive Orders Impose New Gun Rules

We have the right to bear arms, if Obama agrees or not, but there is a lot of time between now & when (if) he is out of office. Its good to voice our opinions here on thhese pages, but we must obviously take our conversations outside these virtual walls. If each of us spent time helping young voters understand todays’ current events, we will have a far better outcome in this next election.
In the meantime, ammo will obviously be his next big target, so help the economy; stockup. Even a brick of ammo a month is better than none. May God help us until this USA hatin race & class baiter is out of office!

  • Paraphrase…”what you do to the least of these, you do unto me.” Yep, for wild birds. Its called compassion & respect for the preciousness of life. It is not the most financially productive act. The birds will not be the future salvation of our nation. Falls in line with the concept of random acts of kindness & senseless acts of beauty. It is the difference between a human & a machine. Give it a try sometime. That warm tingley feeling really is a waste of potentially productive time & energy, too. But so much better than words can describe. Its just; well, better.

  • Obama stated, “Let me distinguish between professional politicians and the public at large. You know, the public is not paying close attention to the ins and outs of how a Treasury auction goes.”

Neither is he nor his cronies. China now holds more than 25% of those treasury notes, counter to US law. So glad the professionals were there to protect our country. With friends like these, who needs enemies?

    2012.

  • Amen, amen. If we could all just remember that while HE is GOD, we are but his children: falible in every way. While I do not agree with Mormonism, I will not judge a group of people who love God. We each come to the table with our own man-made religious beliefs. That is our nature. He loves us anyways. Lets move on from the argument, stand together shoulder to shoulder, and ensure that each of us has the inaliable right to believe what we want to believe. We can either stand together as one voice of reason, or we can die together in the cacaphony of moot rhetoric. I choose God, hope, and life.

  • Ammonium Nitrate ETCHES GRANITE. . . the substance of tombstones. Don’t know what quality grain powder was in the 9mm shells , but sounds like a great catalyst for the etching process. Erase writing… add more … Hope they have non-politically correct chemists on this… I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, just part of the merry mob. ;-)
