  • I only have this on 2nd hand knowledge, but I was told by a retired special forces co-worker that active duty special forces have special “Do not detain” note when running ID checks.

“babbling incoherently and repeatedly claimed that he was an elite Navy SEAL” well which was it? Incoherently or communicative?

I can hear Ron Paul now, I only Taco Bell didn‘t insult Mexico with it’s degrading imitations of Mexican cuisine.

  • All it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing. While that is more slogan-ish than I typically like, in this case it is absolutely true.

And doing nothing, pull all troops out of everywhere, don’t care about anything going on in the world unless it happens within US borders is the Libertarian doctrine. Ron Paul would make surrender, and ass kissing of people who want to kill us national policy.

These particular enemies have waged war with anybody that didn’t submit to them for 1400 years. Do you really thing running home and hiding under the bed is a solution?

So how does this play out, let evil run rampant all over the world and when it comes knocking on our door say, gee wiz we left you alone aren’t you going to leave us alone too?

  • You Ron Paul supporters are a piece of work, when Ron Paul repeatedly gets booed while making the same argument against America that terrorists are making.

Even, EVEN, if it was true, and not just a delusional result of Libertarian non interventionism, it is COMPLETELY ASININE for Ron Paul to say it in public. He is a bobble head.

  • The problem is that the Libertarian ideology is anti interventionist, don’t get involved in matters outside of the country and anti-protectionist, don’t defend US markets, let the free market decide.

While these ideas are GENERALLY a good idea, there are times when other factors come into play, are you going to let OBL run around alive, or let foreign companies buyout US companies wholesale and move jobs overseas?

Ron Paul is seemingly trapped in a prison of inflexibility with his total buy-in to the doctrine of Libertarianism. Smart enough to understand it, maybe not smart enough to understand when it does not help.

You are arguing a point against a point that I did not even make, read carefully.

If one follows the Old Testament preferentially to the new covenant, could you explain the difference between that and being a Jew? Since the torah is basically the old testament.

It hardly serves a purpose for Jesus to explain the mistakes the Pharisees were making only to have Christians repeat them again.

  • Jesus brought a new covenant that would be written on the hearts of men and on which all the old testament laws would depend on. Two commandments, love God, and love each other. The second commandment of Jesus is the golden rule, treat other as you wish to be treated.

I believe that the divinity and the doctrine of Jesus are separable, even if you do not accept the divinity of Jesus, you are left with the second commandment, treat others, even enemies as you would wish to be treated.

This is a perfectly fine moral code. Elegant, simple, easy to remember and hard to mess up. Without taking up more space than is available in a post, this is part of the reason I feel that it came into existence.

You cannot break any of the 10 commandments if you follow the golden rule. In my opinion the Jews were so afraid of breaking the 10 commandments that they created layers of rules around them to provide a safety barrier, this became to complex and convoluted that in following these practices they frequently overlooked the original intent. There are interactions between Jesus and the Pharisees that point this out.

If more religious leaders would concentrate on the message of Jesus, his two commandments, instead of the innumerable other things they prattle on about, I think less people would find objections to Christianity.

But even if people do not accept his divinity, the moral code of Jesus is hard to beat.

  • Huffington Post does not seem to be carrying this story. What a surprise!

    In reply to djmaine.

Don’t see any of the poor that he starved to feed the military and his cronies wailing in grief.

  • STFU, the argument of fascists.

What is he complaining about, Tebow’s freedom of religion or his freedom of speech, or both?

Press on the other hand wants to suppress Tebow’s rights.
